question about taxes and bonuses.

Lets take quarries as an example, because 100 production is a convenient number.
a stone quarry produces 100 stone, of which we get 25% as tax
lets call that 25/100

now, if I have a steward on the main holding, I get a 10% tax bonus. But does that mean that:
1) production is increased : 27.5/110

or

2)the percentage I get as tax is increased : 35/100
?

Furthermore, does a clergyman work in the exact same way?

Last thing: I see that mason required appears only on towns and villages and monastery/college. Does that mean that fortifications require no mason, or is that an oversight?

Last last thing: I changed my turn a bit, in case you don't refresh them all the time.

Regarding bonuses:
Stewards bonuses increase it to 35% instead of 25%.
Clergy do the same thing.

Mason's are needed for all fortifications. That was an oversight on my part.

I'll update this when I'm not on my phone.

so, with a clergyman and a steward, I get 45% of the production as taxes. Nice! Not as powerful maybe, but nice.

Given that we're over the limit I think reducing headcount might just make things faster. That being said, sad to see you go Felissan.

Yeah, I'm really sorry about this. It's just that the game's system was a bit too overwhelming for me. It's my fault for not getting too familiar with the system first, really.

Also, since my kingdom was supposed to be an in-game version of France, you all can go wild on the interpretations. :P

I was going for medieval english culture with as many irish surnames as is possible. Thinking of making Oldtown into the paris of the empire (during medieval times paris was considered the most advanced city in the world due to having sewers, water fountains, and more things like that)

I am using the wikipedia article for wheat as a naming guide for holdings. ( while my wife, demeter, is the greek goddess of harvest)
