"Alright! Thank you, let's go."
Jace led Jason back to class, before sitting back down in his seat, which still had pen and empty paper on it... and was in the front row.

Alex had sat down next to Relspi in the second row, first seat left side, by a window seemingly looking out over a majestic plain. He'd been pondering over what magic meant to him, and decided to ask Relspi what she thought.

"Hey, what are you thinking of putting down?"
"Magic is something which shouldn't exist, but does anyway."
She starts laughing in that choking, sputtering way she has.

Jason unenthusiastically sits in his seat, catching a glimpse at Tiana as he stretched, before turning back towards the front of the room.

"Hm, I suppose that makes a certain degree of sense. On another note, your laughing is a bit off. That's something you might want to change, to be more "normal.""

Alex somewhat agreed with what Relspi had written. But then again, it also seemed off to him, somehow. In the end, he just wrote that magic was something he had no idea about, but found extremely interesting.

"Okay. I shall listen when another female laughs."
She smiles at him.

Moments before Jason had entered the room, the tick signifying his attendance had appeared on the board.

Alex also smiles.

"Good luck with that, then. I'm sure you'll do well."

Tiana raises her hand to wave to Jason but decides not to, and instead focuses on the board.

Anthelia continues to file her nails, but gives a smug look at Jason being late.

Like a windup toy that had suddenly been released, Mr T's hands (which had previously been situated clasped behind his back) lazily drift out in front of him before snapping together together to create a loud and echoing clap.

"Time is up, ladies, gentleman, mystical creatures, eldritch abominations, and undefined. The lesson will continue."

Once more animated, he writes on the black board the words "Three Laws" with a black feathered quill, the letters glowing in the same flaming blue ink.

"Those of you already familiar with the magical world should know something of these - if admittedly often presented in another way. Long nursery rhymes or bloated lists are quite common" he says, waving dismissively, "Regardless, while they are unlikely to be of much consequence in your day to day life, it is important to foster an understanding of the force which you all wield."

Simultaneously to his speaking, "1. Magic must always have a source." is etched into the board by an unseen hand.

"Magic, must always have a source" Mr. T. states after it has finished being written. "An odd phrase to be sure, but can anyone hazard a guess as to what exactly it means?"

Aiko, raising a hand, takes a stab at it. "Uh... There's no magic that's just there. If it's in a place something is causing it, if a person has it there's a reason for it."

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Alice raises her hand.
"Magic always stems from somewhere, whether it's from the person's soul, energy in the air or otherwise."

Tiana hurriedly notes down the first law. Having no idea what the three laws were, she decided that it would probably better to just learn from the others, at least at first.

Anthelia gives a small nod at Aiko's answer, as she writes down the first law in elegant cursive. She then raises her hand.
"Well, it must be that everything has to come from somewhere, does it not? So, magic must have an origin, whether it be the person's body, the natural forces all around us, or as simple as an object."

Alex commits the first law to memory. He was about to raise his hand and say something based off one of the laws of thermodynamics, but fairly quickly realises that would be a bit silly. Better to stay silent and let the other people, those more familiar with this sort of thing, answer instead. He would just watch, and learn.

Hans tentatively raised his hand,
"Well,  if magic were to be a river, it must have a source somewhere, that'd being a mountain to continue the analogy. So from what I gather there's a lot of mountains and streams ultimately feeding what we call magic?"

Hans sorta shrugs, unsure in his answer

Mr. T. begins slowly walking back and forth in front of the class.

"All of you are touching on it, some very closely but not quite exactly. What it fundamentally means is that "wild magic" does not exist... In a certain manner of speaking. Every bit of magic out there originated from somewhere, from actual things or events. Be it an ancient mage millennia ago performing a ritual, a special crystal formed in an azure cave, or certain notes of music that resonated with the earth. It can be easy for it to appear that magic spontaneously erupted from nothingness, and you'd be surprised how many people make that assumption... Yet it does not happen. It is worth keeping in mind, because it is far easier to dispel something at its origination than wherever its effects might appear. Logically speaking it might follow that every instance of magic or magical energy in the universe can be traced back to a single, primordial source... But of that," shaking his head, the blue suited bird continues "Even I am not sure."

He pauses momentarily.

"Are there any questions before I move on to the second law?"
