Tiana looks quite happy by this success, although she also nervously wrings her hands.
"Well, I haven't really tried bubbling an object yet, but I guess we're all here to learn more about magic, right?"

Veikko gently pushes the bubble, passing it over back to Tiana.
"Definitely! Heh, here, catch! Speaking of which, what do you do?"
He nods towards Alice.

"Nothing significant, compared to this."

"Nothing significant, compared to this."

Tiana quickly catches the bubble, and with a wave of her hand, it pops, leaving a small splash of water.
"Don't say that! I'm sure your power's amazing! You don't even need to show it, just tell us about it."

"Come on! Now we'll have to know if you're being so coy about it!"

"If you insist."
Alice sighs, shaking her head as she splays her hands out, as if she were playing a piano or manipulating a puppet.

As fast as jets, strings of golden energy extend from her fingertips, coiling on the floor into what appears to be a slowly-growing string doll.

"Hah! And you said it'd be insignificant! What's it made out of?"

Tiana looks seriously amazed, as a teeth-baring grin makes its way across her face.
"Girl, that was the bomb. Simply A-MA-ZING."

The doll finishes coiling up, and Alice moves her fingers, making it do a jerky dance of sorts.
"I-It's string. Nothing like a fireball o-or bubbles....and nothing particularly amazing...."

[Empiricist]

"Yeah, but you can control it! Have a little more confidence in yourself! Who knows? You could learn a coupla neat tricks with it! And hey! At least sewing and fixing your clothes will be easy! Easier if it comes in blue, but still!"

"Seriously, string can be near-limitless! You could literally make anything with it. Don't sell yourself down."

"I'm not that good at it, I'll be honest."
Alice idly continues making the doll dance, the movements slowly growing less and less jerky.

Tiana walks closer to Alice.
"Well, if you're like this now, just imagine where you'll be in a couple of years! You may not think you're doing that well, Alice, but isn't that the thing about school? So you learn?"

"Well, whatever it is, it's great to meet you, Vijaya. Maybe we could dorm together, if you don't already have a partner. I know we've only just met, but you seem to be quite... interesting. Peculiar, in fact."

"I already have a roommate, actually. I apologize if I am acting strangely; learning to not do so is a large part of why I chose to come here."

Suddenly, there appears to be rather loud flapping outside of the school area, almost thunder-like in sound.
