What's the name of it?

Nevermind, think I found it, but the framerate hit is insane, I'm getting maybe 35-40fps vs 150-250fps on Direwolf20 with a large texture pack.

Most people only notice fps hit at 40 fps. Anything more than 60 fps is useless, human eye only sees ~60 fps. I can get a smooth experience at 25 fps.

25fps is not remotely smooth for input. If you are playing a fighter, for example, you would want silky smooth 60, or even higher. Independent of visuals, higher framerate = less input lag. 25fps is better for things like video that don't require input.

If I'm playing a game where there's noticeably choppy portions, I don't enjoy looking at it as much as I do a game with 60 or higher fps. And no, I can't see higher than 60fps, because my current screen maxes at 60hz. I don't know about that "human eye sees at only 60fps"; comparing something analogue to digital is kinda silly.

Well I guess I didn't consider input.

Anyone still active here? I just popped on, and found my other friends have abandoned the server, so mind if I pop into the twelfth bay?

I don't know if anyone is active.  May be able to revive it if we set up a timeframe everyone goes online at, though.

I've settled down in Chansylvania, nice building style there, though I may go off an work on a hermit fortress in the ice spikes.

I've been up in Conchantinople (Conschantinople? Chanstantinople?) for the last few weeks but I haven't been super active.

Someone is asking about "twelfth harbor" on the reddit site.
I think he wants to talk to someone in charge.

Came here to say this. I'm pretty active atm but haven't actually had anything to do with that town.

Doesn't look like anyone is.
I've started work on my own server now anyway, just for fun really, but the idea is to make minecraft more of a hardcore PVE survival game. With civcraft plugins and multiple worlds. Actually adding stuff to those worlds would take ages though.
