Inquisition - Base Camp: Now recruiting for mission 3!
« on: October 20, 2016, 05:49:43 am »

Base Camp is a truck stop in the middle of nowhere, hosted by a character named Courage the Cowardly Dog.

The secret love child of Cerberus and Cora, Courage was smuggled out hell by Hercules when he tricked Hades into thinking he was just borrowing one of his dogs. Then he was found by Muriel who lived in the middle of nowhere with her husband, Eustace Bagge!

Serving as a watch hound of nowhere against the terrors of the night, Courage eventually convinced Eustace to patronize "the inquisition" believing that it would reduce the monster population.

What we have now is a partial sponsorship from the Cheiron Group, who believe we can provide a mutually beneficial relationship through the exchange of exotic artifacts in return for access to the most powerful weaponry in WoD.

Rules: Arbitrarily Systematically :P taking the best of classic WoD and NWoD

Most of our combat will be using classic WoD. Our lore uses NWoD and also adapts NWoD armories and vehicles to the more comprehensive Classic WoD dice rolling aspergergasms.

Our character sheets and mechanics are mostly Classic WoD from Hunter The Reckoning

Character Sheets:

All Attributes start at 1.
Prioritize the Physical, Social and mental Mental groups according to what is most important to your character.
Distribute 55 xp into the first group
Distribute 35 xp into the second group
Distrubute 20 xp into the third group
You can't keep any leftover xp.

Then Prioritize Talents, Skills and Knowledges.
Distribute 60 xp into the first group
Distribute 30 xp  into the second group
Distrubute 18 xp into the third group
No ability can be higher than 3 initially.
You lose any leftover xp.

Attributes cost 5 multiplied by the new level (level 4->5 costs 25)
Abilities cost 3 multiplied by the new level (Level 4->5 costs 15)
New Abilities learnt after character generation cost 7 points.

For attributes
0->2 costs 15
0->3 costs 25
0->4 costs 40
0->5 costs 17

For abilities
0->2 costs 9
0->3 costs 18
0->4 costs 30
0->5 costs 45

If it's too complicated just tell me what you want the character to do and I'll minmax it for you.

Finances:

The general idea is that hunters survive on loot, more than they do on pay.

Pay Structure: Mission 1 had $2000 up front, it's probably a good number, barely covers equipment costs.

High-Security Banking: No sane commercial bank will touch money from fugitives. But everything has a price...

Deposits incur a $150 transaction fee. Interest is at NEGATIVE 5.4% PA, or about negative 0.015% per game day. Time passes differently in nowhere than on missions.

Secure Bank Deposits remain after character death. All other payments are handled in cash. Anything not in a bank is cash. If you carry cash to a battlefield (you might have to, in cities) you could lose it if you die or get mugged. If you keep cash in your footlocker, housekeeping might steal it. (or marauding reavers! but then reavers don't exist, do they?)

Base Camp Jobs:

Al jobs pay minimum wage, fixed at $8 per hour. $48 per 6 hour shift, $192 per 24 hours in cases of insomnia.

Cooks: You attempt to make edible food. Also doubles as handymen and housekeepers. Try not to turn the trash into food.
Bartenders: You give life advise and therapy to bar patrons. You also try to solicit information, gossip and contacts from them.
Bouncers: You enforce collection of all the fees. You are also the first line of security against random eldritch crap that shows up in nowhere. You may bring a gun.
Entertainers: You amuse people for tips. It is good manners to share said tips with everyone else. How you amuse them is entirely up to you.

Company Store:
Ours is not to reason why.
Ours is a fantastic pension
and health package,
however.

- Cheiron Group

Muriel's Mush and Munch:
((for roleplaying purposes. Please don't take mush into the field, it doesn't keep. Try to consume all cooked food on the premise.))

Hot Meals: $10

Instant Meals: $5

Ration Packs: $5 (this stuff you can take into the field)

Beer on Draft: $2 per pint.

Beer Bottled: $2 per pint...

Gin, shaken or stirred: $4 per shot

Gin, Bottled: $20

Scotch, shaken or stirred: $4 per shot

Scotch, Bottled: $40

Narcotics:

Cocaine $300

Meth $500

Anabolic Steroids $300

Adrenalin $70

Looks mostly good. We'll assume you got an advance on your first mission because you used your organs as a guarantee, payable upon your death. The financiers bear the risk of your body not being retrievable of course.

Uh maybe hold on those inventories until I detail armory options and financing.

For base facilities I'm planning for:
Waged labor, for incapacitated and benched characters to earn pocket money.
Financiers who will deal with secure banking, for a fee: which ensures that even if your body and gear are irretrievable, you could still will money to the team and your future self.
Manufactoriums, or at least means to rig vehicles and improve on weapons using scrap and loot. I need to think this one through.
The standard billeting and medical facilities. Storage for stuff you don't haul to missions.
Merchants. I'm using market prices for now, but I need to think through the effects of a black market. Yeah m4s are that cheap in real life. But machine guns are all that expensive.

sort through the wod equipment crap

working ideas for more useful stuff (thanks Sialia):

Or a trap making kit: includes tripwires, lightweight and compact netting, pressure sensors

Mirella is going to begin working cooking meals for those staying in Nowhere. She might as well be doing something with her time.
