There is a sickening lunge and a pressure inside you head that makes you feel as if you're ears are going to explode. You tumble to the ground and when you look up, there is a giant wall eclipsing the horizon. You have been teleported away from the destruction of the normal world into Sanctuary. A safe haven from the Corruption that has quickly engulfed the world at large. Several structures and many people from your area have been teleported as well. You are a member of the Ark, the biggest act of divine intervention to ever occur. The gods have saved you from the fate of the rest of the world, do not waste their precious gift.

The ruins and buildings from your civilization are met bordered by others of various mortal civilizations. A few miles away a giant wall rises up far into the sky, and beyond that there seems to be an even taller wall further in the distance. In the center there seems to be a building made of the same divine stone as the giant walls. 

After a moment you are within a stone building. They white-grey walls glow with divine energy. You are seated at a throne composed of the same material. There are several other thrones positioned in a circle around the room, each facing towards the center of the room. The room has obviously been crafted by the gods because it is both perfectly designed, but also beautiful. It seems to be a meeting hall of some sort. There is a glowing figure standing in the center of the room.

I am the elder god Moreau. I am the one who brought you here today. The world has ended, and you have been selected to ensure the continuation of the mortal races. We have saved as much and as many as possible, but unfortunately, this is all we could manage given our current energy. The construction of Sanctuary drained much of our mana, and now we must recover. You will be left mostly on your own, however, individual gods may choose to interact with you upon request or how they see fit.

This is Outer Sanctum, and shall serve as the portion of Sanctuary where the mortal races have dominion. Beyond the first wall is Second Sanctum. It belongs to the wilder races and to beasts of all sorts. Beyond that is Inner Sanctum. It is a vast wilderness filled with much life and danger. The more magical places of the world have been placed there in order to preserve them for the future.

Beyond Outer Sanctum is the world at large, a fast and unending ocean belonging to the corruption. It is possible to survive there, but not for long and perhaps never permanently. For now, it is lost entirely.

I have brought you here today because you will serve as the first rulers of this new world. You may do with it as you wish, but ultimately, survival is upon you now. I'm sure this is both alarming, and confusing, and thus, I will open the floor to any speakers here in a moment. We are here today to organize a new government, as well as discuss any issues or questions that you may have as a representative of your race.

Leader name: Sapphire Amythestar
Leader backstory: Sapphire was the daughter of the former leader, but was raised by a poor family to prevent her from becoming arrogant. Her true heritage was revealed when she came of age, and trained to succeed her mother from that day until the day of her mothers death.
Race: the Gaeon
Race description: A race of sentient geodes. They have crystalline bodies, usually composed of precious gems. They eat stones and other such things. They function nearly identically to most organic races(biologically)
Culture: The Gaeon have a monarchal government, and are a matriarchal society. They abhor the concept of jewelry. Most Gaeons live a kind if half-ascetic life, with very few possessions but still retaining the ability to do as they please.

Leader name: Oliver Del Serpenset
Leader backstory: The entirely mortal son of the last demigod of his species. Oliver is not particularly strong by any standard, but he is a master of logistics and excels in the performance of administrative duties.
Race: The Blinkers
Race description: This species is light blue in color, and has one large eye. They are a large and strong race with great endurance, however they are also slow moving. They are dangerous in a one on one fight, but fairly easily confused in larger scale battles.
Culture: In ancient times the Blinkers were used for slave labor by both titans and other races. In the fourth era they would grow bolder and turned aggressive against their former masters who had gotten complacent with brute strength and dreadful demigod warriors.

In the modern era, they have changed substantially. The last known demigod of their species chose to martyr herself in the hopes of ending a vicious cycle of violence. This act has caused the Blinkers to adopt a pacifistic lifestyle. They work diligently every day of their own volition to the benefit of all. At least for the time being that is.

Though the Blinkers lack an active military, their contributions make them well liked or at least tolerated among the other races to the point where they are not at much risk of being attacked.

*This massive statue of a blinker has been imbued with the divine power of the final Blinker demigod. Leader name:Teddy Romero
Leader backstory: Teddy's political carrier started in the militia, where his skills as a leader first began to show themselves. He rose through the ranks during a brief conflict, joining the permanent armed forces after finding his niche. There he continued to rise through the ranks, slowly but surely climbing the ladder. During the Ark, the military declared a state of emergency, putting Teddy in charge of the state due to his popularity with the majority of society.
Race: The Patchwork
Race description: The Patchwork started their existence as a simple humanoid race. But long ago they received an amazingly terrible curse (by whose hand, Titan or God, it is not remembered.), causing their flesh to naturally rot slowly even as they live. Naturally, they began to swiftly die out, the Curse performing its gruesome task on the population. The Goddess of Medicine took pity on the race, and while even she was unable to lift the curse put upon them, she was able to grant them a power that meant their salvation. Each and every Patchwork can secrete a powerful thread from their wrists, which they use to keep their body together like a patchwork doll (giving them their current name.). Not only that, but they may add any other organic material to their own forms, grafting the body-parts of animals, donated organs, or even those won on the battlefield in order to replace that which has rotted on themselves, making them an incredibly diverse (if, morbid appearing) race.
Culture: They tend to long clothing that covers up much of their bodies, cloaks, robes, long capes, hoods, and even masks to cover up their bodies when around other races. They are normally peaceful, or perhaps more accurately isolationist, preferring to keep to themselves (at least, before the incident that brought everyone here happened...), but can prove quit a "sleeping giant" if sufficiently angered.

Leader name: Good King Kiet
Leader backstory: Life is hard. People die. The elders said to work harder so that your family would have a better life. The monks said to contemplate so that you escape the world and be better than god and man. For Kiet, bastard son of a bad monk and a farmer's daughter, he just wanted to know why people had to die. Through years of adventure, toil and hardship, he discovered the Path of Ascendance. To be content with life was and accept that one had to just 'try better' was to let the world be wicked and thus sinful. To ignore the suffering of the world and seek escape within the monastery was selfish, and thus sinful. To seek an end to pain on the world and make it into a new heaven was, to Kiet's reasoning, the greatest good anyone could accomplish. And so, a monk's bastard began a grand revolution and became the Good King, who would Ascend all those tired of the world...and ensure those who would make the world suffer would be toppled from their thrones. Of course, then world  decided to go insane and Kiet had to think about how they were going to survive this insanity.As such, the Grand Revolution that Kiet sought, would have to be postponed.
Race: Naga
Race description: Naga refers to the slender snakemen that is the physical endpoint of Ascension, creatures that live for centuries and can endure all forms of hardship. Theoretically, any individual can Ascend if they follow the Path but in practice most converts  are children of other naga.
Culture: The original culture of the Naga was one based on birth, faith, family and cooperation. With the revelation of the Path, many have shaken off the old traditions in favour of a more scholarly lifestyle. This is not to say that everyone is an academic or has secluded themselves in monasteries but that from the lowest farmer to the Good King himself, every being is taught so that they can usher in Paradise on the world itself. In this case, learning is directed towards 'useful' things like getting an edge on the battlefield or getting better at crafts.   This said, the communal attitude of the Naga is still in force, even if lineage and family has lost the importance it once held. While the Naga love using gold in fashion and architecture, actually desiring wealth for the sake of it is harshly discouraged. As part of the Path that Kiet has spread, all Naga have tossed aside any faith they had in the gods and instead favour mortal perfection and in time, both Physical and Spiritual Ascendence.

Leader name Matriarch Gwendolyn Gelrand
Leader Backstory Gwendolyn was raised by a family with a long - standing military tradition, and entered the army at a young age. She quickly became a commander and, after many won battles, when the previous mariarch died, she was elected as the new one by most of the military, and several others. She oversaw the Undarak through the entirety of the fourth era, and hopes to bring her race back to it's former glory. She is a natural leader who often prefers diplomacy to brutal conflict, as a result of her being oddly affected by seeing death. She will not hesitate to pull out her sword if it is required, though.
Race: The Undarak
Race description: a tall humanoid race with long ears. Capable of growing beards. Lives for several thousand years on average.
Race Culture the Undarak live around a sort of "we're all in this together" philosophy, and treat all of their fellow kind with equal respect. This has made Their civilization a democracy, except for the provincars, the former leaders of the seven provinces of Eldrathion. Six of the sven Provincars escaped to Sanctuary, although without provinces to rule. The elected ruler is, traditionally, a female Matriarch, for reasons kept quiet by the Undarak.
Their second philosophy is to accept things as they are.
All Undarak are required to join up with the miliatary at a certain point, due to the lack of Undarak to fill the places normally.
Undarak genarally dislike and distrust demigods, and usually refuse to have anything to do with them.
Due to their long lifespan, Undarak generally are very slow to change. Despite this, the Undarak are very thechnologically advanced, and use a magic based technology. Engineers are very important in Undarak society.

Leader name: Doge Roland II Marteen

Leader backstory: Patriarch of house Marteen, Roland II is a sharp and opportunistic merchant prince. Previously house Marteen was a secondary power, though upon transportation to Sanctuary, the cutthroat politics of Roland II secured his election as Doge. He is a power hungry man, seeking to solidify his family's control over the Aurum Republic, and the economy of Sanctuary.

Race: Humans (someone had to do it )

Race description: The humans of the Aurum Republic are bronze skinned, and fair of feature. Demigod blood flows through the major families, granting them sharp intellect and an affinity for metals. Though the republic is lead by humans, they make up only half of its population.

Culture: The Aural culture is a competitive one, with strict obedience to law and custom. Family prestige is upheld above personal welfare (by the family patriarchs, at least), and those that dishonour their family can be swiftly disowned, or worse.
In general society folk have little loyalty to the head of state, but much so to their patriarch.
There are four surviving families (and any demigods would be of their spheres):
Marteen: The ruling banking family. Generally well respected, it leverages the other families by their debt.
Alligare: The Alligare family is an amalgam of five lesser families that barely survived the Ark and the following chaos. They are divided and weak, but their elected Patriarch is (totally by coincidence) loyal to house Marteen.
Remus:  The militaristic Remus family is the Republic's muscle. They are loyal to the state before the Doge.
Argentine: The previous ruling family, their control was of airship building. Their mighty navy was almost completely lost to the Others, the final few were left behind when the Republic was transported in the Arc.

Leader name: Bannermaster Hugin
Leader backstory: The last remaining leader of the Orkish Banners.
Race: Orks
Race description: Elder Scrolls Type Orks.
Culture: The Orkish People have always been highly militarized. A Society praising discipline and devotion to the people. The entire race has been divided up into different banners. Each was led by a bannermaster and in case of outside agression (or more propable agression upon the outside) they would gather and call the Banners to war.
Orkish Life is highly reglemented and one serves his entire life in the military. He might be a farmer or a miner but he will work those jobs as part of the Engineering Force. In Orkish Society there are no civilians. Everyone serves in one way or another. From the crib to the graveyard and even into the afterlife the common Ork follows orders.

What will become of those left behind? Must we simply abandon them to this horrible fate?

Several other races were saved, but we could not make Sanctuary large enough to house all of them. They are in stasis for the time being. Those mortals that were not saved may survive in the outside world, but no large cities could possibly survive now. Many have been granted visions of Sanctuary and will attempt to travel here, but beyond that, the gods cannot afford to aid them.

Retaking the world at large is likely going to be done by future generations of mortals. All the tools necessary can be found here in Sanctuary. The Second and Inner Sanctum hold many magical artifacts and weapons from throughout the Five Eras.

An angel will keep track of the resources available to each race, but they are capable of mistakes. If you wish to know more of the items and people in the Second and Inner Sanctum, there are too many for me to keep track of.

"If I may speak, I am Roland Marteen, son of Roderigo Marteen, namesake of the great explorer, Roland the long legged. I represent the Glistering Aurum Republic. Forgive my unstately dress."
His 'unstately dress' is a grubby white and gold surcoat, bearing the tilted scales of his house.
"Thank you Elder God, your intervention visited upon the eve of our destruction. But moments ago I was upon the battlements, I had thought...

The Republic is indebted to you, Elder.
Kiet, I am humbled by your presence, and agree with your proposal, however I must confer with the patricians before I can commit the Republic to action.

I anticipate we are all eager to see to our people's safety, I propose we commit to strictly enforcing peace between our peoples before we reconvene.
