Yeah, I suppose they would, provided there's marriages and they don't leave to dance in goblin fortresses or some other such action.

Hmm. It would be slow, but possible. I'm going to do this at some point for science.

You'll likely deplete your seed fortresses yourself, as they probably would arrive at your "main" fortress as migrants.

Shouldn't do that if one sets pop cap to 7.

Here's my experiment so far:
Dead civ, 10000 gobbos
I seeded, like, 10 forts, with preset skills (Sets of fighter, artisans etc.)
I looked in each dwarfs description to see what they liked, and tried to embark with it.
If they liked dogs, for example, I included dogs in the embark.
I added a bunch of farm creatures (alpacas) to each embark, hopefully they'll end up in the migration waves
I tried to include armor/weapons and put them in a militia, so they'd migrate fully armed, skilled etc.
What else is possible?
Would all these seeded dwarves end up at my fort if it's the only one around? I abandoned all the seed forts so they'd only be able to go to my currently-running one.
When I deplete the goblins in that region, I'll abandon and set up a new one, so that they all migrate there.
Legends tells me there's about 30 not-dead seeded dwarves somewhere in the world :p I hope they get the gist and come to my fort soon :)
Wealth affects migrants, right?

If you're wanting to draw migrants from them, then note that military won't emigrate with their equipment. However, miners, hunters and woodcutters will.

Furthermore, a dwarf may show up hauling whatever they were hauling at the moment you left for greener pastures, so you could stuff all military gear into a minecart and make them lug it.
