Problem is that I stopped being able to connect well before I'd farmed up everything I would need to run Void Survival to reasonable times. I can swing lower-level Extermination and stuff, but I really don't want to grind out a bunch of shit for warframes, weapons, taters, &c. entirely solo. Half the reason I played was for the team play (and the higher challenge in the same); there are plenty of games I could play if I just wanted to run around shooting things solo, even if WF is a lot of fun.

Granted, my primary is Loki, so it's at least possible, but there's not much point if I can't even use the stuff I get to have fun playing with other people.
While void survival certainly looks prettier, why that one in particular? Its not the biggest area for prime parts anymore since relics.
Mostly because I haven't played since that was still the thing and don't track patchnotes any more.

I've played wow, but I wasn't impressed! I'm just not in for the long-term social aspect of the game as much as other people.

Given that my first mmo was Runescape, and that felt great.
It felt quirky and new, as one of the few mmo's with a detailed quest system.

It's one of the less social mmo's since most things are not a group activity. You'd talk to people to get information about what is nearby while exploring Lumbridge and other areas.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of new group things since the advent of Runescape 2 (A major engine/graphics overhaul)
Though to be honest the game is still less graphically detailed than Wizardry 8 even with Runescape 3.
I used to love the feeling of completing quests, and level ups.

Unfortunately the new quests don't appeal quite as much, and I maxed my ranged combat level.

My favorite pvp ever is the original guild wars.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Your goal is to kill the enemy team and survive.

You can play using the same perspective as quake, although I've spent a long time staring at my elementalist's backside. (just use the scroll wheel to adjust the POV)

Unfortunately the game no longer produces expansions, and is superseded by Guild Wars 2, which no longer has the same super-appealing build system.

Thread necro to let people know that the company that owns LOTRO has broken away from Turbine. So... maybe a bit of a resurgence for that gem of a game.

Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

Same.  By far my favorite MMO--leagues better than anything else imo, including WoW.

D-do MMOs have mouselook?

EDIT: Also that feels like... the most minor of features. This game has been neglected for years. Under the redevelopment and a little financial support it could be pretty lit.

If i hear it's been reborn or at least got some improvements I might go back to it. Might create a new account seeing as my old email is basically a dump now. (I made it as a kid for gaming and stuff anyway) I never got far either.

In other MMORPG talk, I wish SWTOR would break from EA. C'mon Disney, buy it from them and give it to a better dev. I enjoyed my Republic Trooper and my Imperial Bounty Hunter stories, but sadly, other than PvP matches there wasn't much to do after that. Maybe grind flashpoints or help newbie guildies do their stuff.

Mouselook might be a minor feature to some, but I have carpal tunnel syndrome (alongside nerve damage) so holding a button and wrenching my hand all over the place at the same time is rather uncomfortable to me.  And yes, many MMORPGs now have mouselook as a feature, some of them even have it as a toggle for WoW-trained players.

Also, the ones that use bdo or tera-like combat kinda rely on mouselook with alt key for menus.

I'm still playing Black Desert Online every day, mostly just running guild missions. The action is enjoyable on it's own, but there's not really any endgame progression to give further meaning to the experience.

Kinda halfway watching Pantheon development, but not super hyped.

MMOs are just... idk, they're almost a failed experiment at this point. At least in terms of new stuff coming out. TOR or LOTRO would be the most fun imo if you're looking to try one again, simply for the (relative) quality of their stories, quests, and plot lines. Heck, I loved to play TOR solo, it was a blast!

I gave up on Black Desert. Had a bit of a love/hate feeling for it. It has the best combat out of any MMO I have ever played, but it was very grindy and said grinding was not very fun.

I picked up Elder Scrolls Online a while ago on sale but didn't start playing until recently.

I mostly just do the quests. Questing and exploring are generally my favourite parts of an MMO and doing it in an Elder Scrolls setting has been pretty enjoyable for me.

I like group stuff too but only if I'm in a group I enjoy playing with. I don't think I've been in a guild like that since the early days of WoW though.

I have done a few dungeons but I didn't find that experience terribly enjoyable. The game has a system in place so that anyone can play with anyone so my level 10 character was being matched with like level 30 characters (the group is scaled so that everyone has a similar power level). The downside to this is that a lot of these people have played these dungeons so they're running right by all the story stuff onto the next pack of mobs.

I'm not sure how I feel about PVP yet. I like that you can attack and defend forts with siege weapons, knocking down a keep wall with a trebuchet and then storming in with the rest of your group is fun. The actual fighting is not terribly interesting though. It's a big chaotic mess of people spamming abilities. And 1v1 is just silly. I've been in a 1v1 situation three times and I've only been able to kill one of the players. The other two were just impossible to kill, and it was impossible for them to kill me. I chased one player halfway across the map spamming knockdowns and spells and getting hits in when I could and I still couldn't kill them. Time to kill in a 1v1 situation just seems way too long.

playing final fantasy 14 since a month, and its simple amazing (a friend ane me picked it up start of the year in the steam sale and played it every day since then). there is so much attention to detail in it its great. and so far (lvl 50 end of reborn) its not even "grindy" like a lot other mmos are. crafting and gathering isnt boring. lots of minigames and things to do daily. story is great, some of the sidequests are even amazingly well made and funny. also it runs pretty well.

totally recommending ff14.

also the trailer is bloody awesome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h542YbZuwkQ
