Encourage language development
+1

Yeah language is important, but they will develop It eventually by themselves and they already started, but if we don't get moisture in the nest all the eggs will dry out and die.

This.

A good idea would be to dig a tunnel all the way till the lake, but not breach the wall so that the nest has moisture and they could also drink without going out.
Do this and use the room as an incubation chamber as well

Neither of them should leave the Great Chambers alone. Make them go in teams of at least 2.

The Snails dig further, following the moist sides toward the closest murky pool. As two of them worked on digging, the rest spent sometime trying to figure out what to do, and how to communicate with each other.
Meanwhile another Snail went to help their friend inspecting the bushes, they seem to have found some kinds of berries, but don't know yet what to do with these.

They should have tons of grubs unearthed from the excavation. Plus they are in a swamp, which should have tons of decaying plant matter for them to eat. (assumedly, they eat the same as regular snails.) We should eat this stuff for now, the berries could be poisonous.

Have the snails collect some wood and clay and bring it into the entrance chamber.

Also, if they have not already, have them lay a bunch of eggs in the calustrial chamber.

Being suspicious toward the berries, the two snails moved their interest for other bushes around the area. They found Marsh Lettuce, these leafy green plants looked more trustful.
Meanwhile another group of snail men went to examine the trees and started collected fallen branches.

We are now on the 15th day since their awakening.

They are not ready to lay eggs yet, as none of them have mated yet. Furthermore, none of them developped close enough relationship to be willing to mate.
(Also, yes they are hermaphrodites.)

Begin binding reeds and wooden branches into a small stockade around the claustral chamber.

Play them some smooth jazz from the aether, and have them boil that marsh lettuce down into a nice, thick, heavy roast. Just enough for two.

Start digging individual rooms for the snails. They have to sleep somewhere.
