Children of a Dead Earth (like KSP but the lasers kill the men)
« on: October 11, 2016, 05:17:28 am »

Children of a Dead Earth is a delightful bit of hard science and space battle. Apart from the engaging campaign and fairly rich world this game smacks of bay 12. Everything is based on real equations and real technologies, the result is fairly modern looking grain silo style rockets blowing the ever loving shit out of each other with rail guns and nuclear missile salvos. The orbital mechanics work like Kerbal Space Program but instead of doing something awesome like landing on the mun you get to do something awesome like reduce an enemy scout ship into a cloud of radioactive vapor with a nuclear haymaker that's been wound up for days. If you can't solve things at missile range you can enter combat by intercepting or flying past an enemy and lighting them up with coil guns and laser weaponry with targeting system that's not as satisfying as FTL but gets across the same basic feeling.

Mechanically it's really cool but the graphics are nothing to write home about.

I definitely like it, I think you should try it, but at 25 dollars it might be a good idea to try and catch it on sale.
