Am I bad? All over the shop, I know I am. Do, I'm sure I can.
« Reply #90 on: October 16, 2016, 11:06:30 pm »

Woah this is a lot of Reading.

sorry for the wall of text. probably a PITFA to go through, for you guys and newcomers.
I know this isn't what you signed up for, but bear with me. I got more stuff than this planned, but I gotta think how to make it !FUN!

More text :o???

It's bad, isn't it? I'm bad? I can do it fairly well IRL, internet requires more trickery-pokery but it can be done with some adaptation and a lot of cooperation. Please be patient with me. If you guys wanna try other games of BMFCT in the meanwhile. please go ahead and get some tasty fun. It's all learning and growing to become mature enough to do better.

*currently debating Hard Bill as repair man*
LLLLLLLLLFFFFDD
My Name is Immaterial as : "Big Hard Bill" Jimmy ; Mean Bastard Lifter Crab
a tough-as-nails asshole crab who can fix anything by swinging around huge girders!
He's strong as any crab and pretty mean when he needs to be ;)
Deep down he's an understanding and patient soul

Fixin':Huge Fuckin' Wrench and/or Spanner(on back) Toolbox o'shit(in truck)

DDDDDDDLLLLFF
snow dwarf as : George "Rusty" McPunch'face Snowclaw ; Steely Driver Crab
with nerves of fuckin' steel, mean as a cuss, hardworking and always reliable
George is a yeti-crab, a snowtribe crab and some wierd magic ice elemental shaman

Steel Whip(on hip)*,

*like the lasso, but less finesse. Not sure if he should use cabling or not, but steel cable whip probably works too. A actual, modified weapon can probably easily be crafted out of just metal wire or cable, and with little to no repair skill. Just tying knots in metal cable should do it. If a crab does something often, they can probably get shortened time, but only on simple actions. Really you shouldn't be racing to make something in the early game, you should make it beforehand. Racing against time to complete actions with possible severe consequences come in the later game.

Diego Johnson
« Reply #93 on: October 17, 2016, 12:00:41 am »

FFFFFFFFLLLLDD

lawastooshort as : Diego "Fuckbeard" Johnson ; Heart-Broken Fighter Crab a brawling, dancing, bearded crab, with a lost love

Pa's Rifle (on hip) A family rifle, fitted for Crabs. Make up some backstory about his pa. He died defending Crab Mountain. It gets attacked a lot, but Goddess kicks their stupid asses all the way back to hell
Boxer Strategy (moves to intercept enemies with boxing strikes. Can interrupt/counter and chase fleeing enemies, and do some amateur(!) wrestling)
Lost Love's Lasso (on hip) I see this as being a reliable item. It's probably made of crab hair, which is tough and wiry like metal, but grows sparsely and rarely. Martha had a lot of hair, especially long ones up to a metre on her head, which is somewhat unusual for most crabs.

I feel that in the setting, long hairs on a crab denote sensory powers, maybe even psychic stuff. In any case, all Crabs can feel the spirit of Goddess and smell the scent of SACRED CRAB MOUNTAIN as long as they're alive and obeying her commandments, so they're mildly psychic. Perhaps we can develop this later?

George is different, some crabs have a fuzzy hair on their heads faces and other parts of body (wherever you want) and crab fur/fuzz varies wildly in colour and qualities. Crab dreadlocks? Anyone? lol

Markko "Erinomainen" Härkönen
« Reply #94 on: October 17, 2016, 12:13:13 am »

DDDDDDDFFFFLL
Maegil as : Markko "Erinomainen" Härkönen AKA Laine, a Surly Amphibious Driver Crab with wise cracking politics and poetic justice through Sisu
He's a deep water shaman connected to the sea and rivers. He gets his lifeforce, purification and healing from coming into water, like most crabs, but Markko gets special devotional powers and focus from WATER. He gets healed on contact with some kinds of riverwater :).
He can also heal crabs by using water without submerging them. Still, he needs a significant amount to grow limbs or organs back.

He has a bow that shoots custom arrows made from various scrap bits.
He can make different kinds of arrow such as explosive ones :)
Really, it's like a little catapult that can fire shards and shrapnel as well, so it does shotgun stuff.
"Scrapapult", I like, shoots anything from stones to bolts. Maybe all crabs can use this special scrap-a-pult, but Markko has a specialty in 1 use or another (firing bolts, shrapnel, rocks, whatever)
Using items is DRIVE! so he can repair, construct, maintain etc. this shit pretty well.

Does surfing with a special metal sheet (can all crabs do surfing? Beats me. Probably uses DRIVE!!!!)

Ability: Bubble
Markko makes bubbles both healing and poisonous out of water/alcohol/gas etc. and can use them. They (currently) have no immediate effect but kick in after a turn or two and provide gradual healing, for example.

Ability: Extremophile
Markko is tough and can shrug off fire and heat. He somehow absorbs it using water.
This has implications for combat, exploration and his job role if uses Drive:Repair and things get hot (literally) and maybe results in better soldering or something.

Ability: Sisu
So far, he should practice Sisu somehow and keep himself sharp (Drive! is about all that)
In any case, Sisu stops Markko from flinching or otherwise doing stupid things. (Sorta Lift!-y)
It stops him from being hypnotised, or becoming demented/insane. He resists psychic attacks.
He's kind of the wizened sage of the group, maybe he has a white beard? I dunno. He's a dignified nature shaman and should get a robe or something, maybe a headgear like circlet or wreath?
A long white beard = Psychic powers

NOTE FOR EVERYONE
The truck will probably have to be partially amphibious (or convertable) and go across and under the ocean. The late game truck will fly and go to floating islands and cloud temples and moon shrines and shit

« Reply #97 on: October 17, 2016, 03:23:02 am »

Here's the breakdown of the Crab Fighter Violence Classes:
Brawler = fights admirably with body
Samurai = fights sexily with weapons
Paladin = fights durably with shield
Barbarian = fights smashily with heavy stuff
Soldier = gets tactical/strategic bonuses in combat, not a fighting style

Uh. I'm kinda tired right now since I've been out doing stuff all day so I'll take a look at what you've posted tomorrow, but this is probably gonna take all of us a while to process all of this; this is a lot of data you're front-loading on us right now.

So, uh. Don't necessarily expect immediate results, since it's a lot to sift through.

I gotta delete and condense this motherfucking shit to less than 5-pages...
« Reply #101 on: October 17, 2016, 05:36:17 am »

I'll handle it and condense it to the salient points. We'll get there (I hope).
I've got enough enemy ideas for about 10 encounters.
Scenes of the waste might take a little longer as will scenes of crab mountain.
Other stuff is pretty much in place, just needs to be linked up to other stuff and contextualised to give it relevance.

Well, as Xantalos says, it's a hell of a lot to get through.

I think it sounds like you have enough of the background and preparation done in your head that we could start up without any more text being added and it would all be fine: we know how badass our crabs are, and you know the rules and the background and have a lot of crabfever. You have to jump on that fever and ride it.

The five of us aren't veterans of being a bigass motherfucking crab, but we've been around the RP block a bit (well, I speak for myself and Xantalos and MNII, I don't know you other two so much, sorry) and can also swear. We can be motherfucking giant crab truckers!

Let go and trust your GM skills, dude!

(Let's get our sheet and trucks finalised, too.)

Woah this is a lot of stuff. A week of time should do so that during the weekend I can read this 7 pages. You are doing a lot of work to create this system. Maybe you should try writing this on a single page in Google docs so that it's easier to read???
