The detailing of the known issues seems solid; no BS or spin while also acknowledging that software can be horribly complex.
I read some of the steam reviews prior to the burst of activity in this thread... Some of them seem a little extra salty in the way that steam reviews tend to traffic in hyperbole, but I totally get why those feelings could also be genuine. Save file and completion bugs are the absolute worst; if any parts deserve extra QA, those are definitely at the top of the list. The last couple times I clearly recall problems with save files were Torchlight (1?) and a couple sloppy Minecraft modpacks. Having the record of your efforts simply disappear is _not_ _fun_. >_>

I feel like ES2's launch woes are yet another data point on a terrible conundrum for the industry.
When games launch buggy as hell, it dissuades people from making the leap early & at full price. The economics dictate that in many cases, some number of people _must_ make the leap if there's any chance of things getting fixed; if launch revenue isn't good, layoffs often follow, reducing the roster of available bug-squashers.
What happens when all the goodwill has been spent, industry-wide? Sure, there will always be new young & naive people flowing in that haven't been burnt yet... but not so many as to shoulder the burden of keeping the whole industry (as it currently exists) afloat.
Amplitude seems like they're doing alright at doing the right things, overall, which is some consolation for this title. The post-launch support for previous titles has me hopeful that ES2 will get sorted. ...and they were smart enough to get out from under the Guillemotine brothers, right? That's gotta be worth something.
