This is the first time I've ninjaed a player, as a GM.

Can influence be use to damage phantasms, as well as create them?

I.e, can Anders attempt to strip the illusions that moon-bunny sensed?

You could have done. :P

Also, using influence to damage illusions...hmm. I think if you realized it was an illusion, it couldn't hurt you anyway.

Honestly, I should have made the entire adventuring party an illusion (while everyone thought they were actually playing), and tricked Caern into selling his soul to evil swamp demons.

You could save that for the Finale of the game. Just fade out, pulling back to reveal the whole adventure was Wen-Tsu thinking about how her upcoming trip to earth would be like.

You could save that for the Finale of the game. Just fade out, pulling back to reveal the whole adventure was Wen-Tsu thinking about how her upcoming trip to earth would be like.

And then, pull back further to reveal Wen-Tsu is actually a toy rabbit, in baby Moubu's crib.

We were pretty much forced into the trap anyway because we knew Cael was there. = \

Can't blame me either, though. I had even less of a choice.

Is the illusion actually cast using part of Cael's character's soul, or literally a piece of his body or memories?

Yes, that was the purpose of the trap. Caern didn't exist until he joined the game. I suppose you could have found him washed up on the beach, but that's no fun. :V

It wouldn't be a moral quandary if I told you! Needless to say, he feels entirely real, and he certainly doesn't want to 'die'. The shadow-beings did take 'something' from him to make such a convincing 'illusion', but if that's a part of his soul, or merely a shadow of conscious self/electrical pattern of his brain waves is entirely up to your own beliefs.

I'd honestly prefer the "washed up on the beach" idea by now. It'd have been way quicker, which I believe is important during introductions.

And if this continues like this, I'll turn illusionary Caern into a stand.

But this way we get two Caerns to introduce to the party.
