Comrades again:
Are we going to try to catch Varkonius as he comes back encumbered with goat, and kill him, and then get the object?
We could go and get the object now? That would be breaking and entering, but that's not really much worse than murder. Just thinking aloud for now.
Hmm, presenting evidence...
Fuzzy inclined his broad head and tilted slightly sideways, a motion of respect that pantomimed exposing the jugular. “Thank you. Now, as to your questions. Mr. Davar's room number is A23, and his deal is scheduled to take place on the Flounder itself in the lounge of its hostel. His buyer is also quite early -the nervousness of a first time criminal, I think- and will arrive at the station at approximately the same time Davar arrives on world. They are not, however, scheduled to make the exchange for another three hours. As for the why of it, well, that invites a bit of speculation.” Fuzzy stretched, sheathing and unsheathing is claws in a series of contemplative clicks against the hard floor. “The buyer is a member of Tiamen, but he's a scientist- expatriated for his heretical belief in the progenitor race and, more importantly, for rejecting the idea that there is anything holy about the 'Relics' of his empire. Knowing that, I'd guess that he's associated with a group that seeks to destabilize the Tiamen theocracy itself and bring about some kind of radical movement- though it's a bit painful to think that rejecting space dross as a deity is a radical belief to any civilized race.”
The scan data from our resident backflipping Cane suggests we're just in time! To die!
I suggest we DO NOT go the planet and the mysterious spacecraft, possibly driven by the Death God Vera. And the army of heavily armed NPC's Draignean is probably writing up right now.
Instead, let's break into Varkonius's room on the Flounder.
I doubt he's lugging the space junk around with him-he's probably got it stored where he intends to do the deal. We've got people either going to ambush him, or waiting to see what happens before they act, but as far as we know we're the only ones who know his room number. If it's not in his room, then at least we know it's in his shuttle (probably). If it's not in either of those places, then we're out of luck.
Our best chance is to go there (we paid a bit for the info, or will pay) and see if we can sneak in and out without fighting anyone.
