I've Kesari received a hidden message, probably a death threat, that she noticed was something that's already happening D: It was entitled "VOTE OR DIE"! O_O

 :P
Thanks Dwarmi for the PM.
Btw...

We really need to vote here!

Since no one wants to be Captain. :P

Decisions!

#1 The crew has a jump solution, using that they can reach the Flounder within minutes, and be on the planet in minutes more. Unless Varkonius' goat purchase takes only a few minutes, that means it's quite likely they can catch him on the ground.

#2 On the other hand, both the EM flask and Kesari's improved EW defenses will take a considerable amount of time, which might mean that delaying could be the smarter option- though it gives time for a lot of the unknown variables to converge on Varkonius.

#3 There is a third quasi-option here: Use the jump solution, but hang back and don't move in on the Flounder. Just sit back, run scans, and wait. Comes with the danger of being noticed, but is a step back from flying in where Angels fear to flutter.

I cast my vote for option #2. I still think it's a trap we should avoid.
I'd be biased and go #2, more because I know Kesari would pretty much be attached to plans and planning--other than #1, unless someone makes a convincing idea towards it :P
Also I read the awesometonofpost and I've merely to post.

...But wasn't I ON the ship rather than on the station? Unless the sled has its own bore mechanism to transport us to the area?

#3 is pretty nice though, and something on the same level as my thoughts here, because Kes could easily make the face of our ship being a merchant vessel (and totally just carrying mercs because its on the same course) :P Could extremely help us more than #2, ESPECIALLY since we lack updated information about the current situation (ie We obviously got the scoop of what'll happen--we have NO idea where or how deep the leak was, or on what's happening between then and now; in hindsight, we could've asked Fluffy's opinion on whether the 'extent of knowing the time and location' of the mark is readily known and accessed--to at least assume the # of mercies available to jump on it, because we also cross the danger of us being too cautious and assuming too much when we are poised at PROBABLY the most accurate location [info station] to determine that 'no, we got the narrow information needed')

...Unless #3 has a very quick action that Kesari could do but precludes her from acting as it turns the situation into #2-but-safe-scan-in-use. :P

Arg. To make things complicateder, we could jump now, and go steal the artefact, and ambush Varkonius!

IO's argument that waiting only sounds safer and has no actual concrete benefit is somewhat convincing.

I change my vote to 3.

I'd change it to 1 so we can just get some action nice and quick, but I am too scared of the ambush and the gloop.

Edit: spelling

Huh :O
I'll move my #2 to #1 given IO's wisdom. Though #3 still occupies that safe spot. We need IC reasoning if we're going to reason it out OOC unless it can be succinct :P

My worries are merely 'teleportstabs' from our mark :-\ BUT that's wholly metaknowledge since I didn't update myself based on our contracting Cane's info.

So, let me get this straight...

Go now and break for the planet: Tir/IO
Wait at Deliria for all actions to be complete, then go when ready: DH/Dwarmin
Go now and observe until something happens: Lawas/Murdoc

You have three options, and you still manage to split yourselves three ways?

I would like to point out that rocks can still fall in space.

Fair enough. From here on out, when I need a concrete action to move things along, I'll put a vote up in this thread.

Thinking of making a character for the potential list -- I got into D-22 via waitlist, so why not try here?
A couple of character archetypes I have in mind are a space-hobo-knight-errant kind of agile gunslinger (and cheerful, though that might maybe be covering ground khate already covers????)(daughter of a pair uplifted from a low tech planet and member of an organization that tends to collect these formerly-low-tech sorts, hence the whole knight errant thing) OR a tech expert... but specifically an apex tech expert, originally from a low tech world that had adopted apex tech relics as "magic" -- from which this character would have become a bit of an expert and developed a drive to learn about similar things, becoming knowledgeable about some apex tech but having a startling gap in prime tech knowledge

pff, another idea, I could base a character off of what exceptionally little I know of 4chan's /biz/ (business) board (little because I literally just looked it up -- it appears to have a veneer of casual shitposting and memes that marks a 4chan board but under that is a whoooole lot of relatively complex economic talk (by which I mean it goes over my head, but I haven't taken any econ classes yet)) and make an exceptionally deep-savvy character with a fantastic mind of business and economy, tempered by a layer of memes that only make even the slightest amount of sense to other deep-savvy folks and by an overly developed opportunistic streak

Also, I guess we're waiting on King Murdoc/Scarlet, who despite having an awesome setup for lab partner RP, refuses to post.

Sad whale.

Oh noes! Sad whale!

I need to sleep more. Reading sad whale actually upset me there for a second.

Anyway, I'm about 2k into this turn, so if Murdoc doesn't want to jump right in and banter with you in the lab/POST A GODDAMN ACTION I can still move right along.

Ninja'd.

Edit: I mean that all caps shouting and cursing in a friendly way. You know, because that makes sense.
