3 votes for HMS Merciful Reunion, 1 vote just for HMS, 1 abstains-I believe voting is locked. :P

...

Anyway, my idea was based on...

--> We're literally a merciful bunch of plucky heroes. (for the optimists in the crew)
--> We provide the ultimate form of mercy...at a price...in an entirely fatal manner. (For the pessimists, reuniting means literally this)
--> In pun mode, we're called Mercies so it stands to reason our ship is very Merciful. ...because we're literally FULL OF MERCIES!

HMS Merciful Reunion is good.

Maaaan, now we're voting for some King somewhere :I
But we secretly have a King so...this'll be a hassle for port authorities if they come asking.

Yeah I'll throw in my vote for it too. We won't be yelling the name like a battleship so it's all good \o/

Though I keep thinking a one-word name is better. Like the HMS Unity or something just as concise?

HOWEVER people haven't suggested their SHIP TRAIT yet! :D
Draignean: Can waitlisters suggest too, pretty please? :3

[meanyface] No. [/meanyface]

Traits have been locked in for the group. If you eventually start adding more passive people to the ship, that's your problem, but for now the waitlist is the waitlist.

Turn is HERE.

The little stubby charsheets provided are for your reference. It generally leads to less confusion if players track their own movements based on the turns, and it'll definitely be easier for you guys if you can pick up small stuff as a free action. Please just copy them off and attach them to your action posts from here on out. (Dialogue, naturally, doesn't need 'em.)

Hey Draignean,

apologies - I just remembered I hadn't edited in my revised/improved traits. So I did:

Hope it's not too late for anything important.

edit: urg, don't feel very inspired today.

Irony, I love Khate. I just want you to know that.

Dwarmin, I'd like to say you gave a mini heart failure that thankfully resolved itself when our lores didn't have any glaring conflicts, and even semi-matched.

The IC thread exploded while I was asleeeeep @_@ (And depressed, but that's unsaid)
I'll just...do stuff on the ship that doesn't warrant that much information :D
(And then she posts giant walls of text)

But tiny query :3 Am I somewhat disguised that I pass off as the common idea of 'male soldier person probably' given:

Spoiler: Kesari 'Kari' Alessaei (click to show/hide)
Status: Fine. (As He ever is)
Also I'm happy you picked the nickname that she most prefers rather than the more 'close-y' one, and the less 'annoying' one.

Space bounty hunting seems quite complicated. Or perhaps I have a tendency to overthink things. I have to remember that we are not beginners at this kind of thing. Are we? We all at least have related skills.

We should have asked the client if the target item would withstand orbital bombardment and just take out the planet and then look for it.

I really don't know what the most likely professional approach would be, or what would be best for us to do.

It would be useful to potentially discover any rumours behind who ordered this theft as help in case we get caught up in double/triple-cross shenanigans. But then we might just alert people that we are coming. But then the target must expect considerable pursuit.

There are probably two approaches I can think of right now. First - to knowingly fall for the trap but hope that superior ability and preparation gets us out of it. But we can't rely on our superior ability, and don't have enough information yet to prepare enough. Aubrey and Kari could possibly be of use in surveilling the target area, beyond insertion/extration/trying not to die horribly. The main risk here is death.

The the approach of just see what happens and then strike after the probable ambush etc. etc. The main risk here is losing out. Possibly committing crimes/death, too.

In both cases there is also the risk of it being a decoy and the exchange taking place somewhere else entirely! But the target seems confident and homocidal enough that probably he would want to confront his pursuers and dispose of them, rather than fleeing. Possibly.

edit: i've just signed up for a course on "how to survive on mars" to better inform my participation in this game

You are not beginners. On the D&D scale, you're level 7ish. Strong enough to play with the big kids, well known enough to not have to advertise too much, but with a long way to go to the top.

We should have asked the client if the target item would withstand orbital bombardment and just take out the planet and then look for it.

Other people (Read as: civilized society) typically object to gratuitous orbital bombardment on the level of taking out planets. Terraforming is expensive.

*grimble grumble* No, just copied from the wrong statblock.

Draignean, what would you imagine the sphere of influence of a mind hack of Aubrey's experience to be?

So, I decided to collate stoofs just for Draignean's lessening burden, since I have the relevant impression that walls of text may at times be burden-y :P

And by that I mean putting EVERYONE'S SHEET (including our dearest cruise liner convertible) into my pastebin account :V
The Crew page can benefit from this, maybe?

((This also probably means that I'll be helping keeping track of people's sheets o_O?))
Spoiler: sidecommentary (click to show/hide)

Digital Hellhound | Boris Mundus, the Scavenger King of Strenger (Human)
lawastooshort | Ms Aubrey Brakhadakh (Neo-Crow)

Very nice. Integrated.

I'll be pushing things in the IC thread along shortly, as well as linking the main thread in the OP.

Ship: "HMS Merciful Reunion" | Converted Luxury Cruise Liner

Maybe put this anywhere in that area.
