Right, can someone else review Sadish's blackbox data? That message was sent to the whole crew, and anyone can get the data.

I decided it would be in more character for Sadish to fob off pawing through the physical data, now that she has a scientific answer and a project to work on.

What is the plan, team? Sorry for the series of questions to follow, it's just I don't want Aubrey to die:

We could wait until the transaction is done, and jump on them - but then we'd have to chase two fleeing in different directions, presuming he doesn't just kill us all.

If we got there before him, we could go to his room and steal it off him then somehow kill him. But it could be trapped.

It would require a considerable feat of timing to get there just as it goes down.

He could always end up dead or damaged in the apparent ambushed the goat purchase is leading to.

I can't think right now what is best.



Also - are we going to have like an away team? Who is going to face him? What are our combat strengths?

Aubrey could be ready with the Bird to chase down the buyer/item if they get away.

Varkonius uses a lot of enhancements. Are they hackable?

Granted, if you tell me it has a great weapons package, I'll be much less likely to believe it has great shields/redundant systems/Armor etc.

Hackable implies a certain permanency, but yes. A mindhack can absolutely interfere with a bore jumpers implants, interdiction is easy, redirection is harder, and permanently sabotaging them requires quite a feat, but is still possible.

Well, I'd imagined the Bird as more of a small smuggling craft that had enough maneuverability and probably stealth and possibly shields to get in and out and escape, not really to be a spacefighter...

I'm not an advanced technology sci-fi type of person so it's hard to imagine sometimes what a character who kind of is could do.



Team - Varkonius, if I remember from the OP, was using bore jumpers in combat as an important strategy. Perhaps taking these out (Aubrey should be able to give it a good shot) is an important thing for us. Being able to redirect him into a vacuum would be nice but probably a bit too tricky. Anyway, it's late and I'm off.

Which station? Bear in mind that space station is sort of like 'city' or 'he/she', it's fine as long as it's unambiguous- though I probably don't have room to throw stones on that count.

The Reunion has little to no sensor capability beyond the solar system she's in (unless you do something clever), so you can't just bounce a signal off Flounder. Also, more than cursory scans tend to make people 'nervious'. It's like asking a person how there day is. A little bit is fine between strangers, but you start asking when they get off work and whether or not their route home takes them through any dark alleys and they're probably going to start edging away.

In short, a scan of Deliria will be blocked and a polite paragraph about the station's public information will be fed back. The Flounder is still light years away, and thus beyond your typical reach.

It will take the Reunion approximately three hours to come up with the jump solution if you don't buy one off Deliria.
