Do I need to specify the use of a passive ability every turn in order to get results from it, or will EMF Detection trigger automatically when any electrical presence is in range provided Pisci is conscious?

Well, it is intended to be permanent, which should be taken into account to provide weak variants or small enhancements, in this case, the goal is a utility skill based on plant growth and firing a crossbow bolt, with my ultimate goal being a grappling hook Xbow Skill of some kind.

I'm uncomfortable with you being able to have infinite skills like this. How's about you can modify it however you like, but using an orb consumes it?

The orbs are consumed permanently already, as is the intention, I spend an orb, get an Expansion, which can be any one of a list of three things you decide. As an example, Say I spend a Black Magic orb on the Crossbow Item, I might get "Magic +1", "Innate Fire" or "Flaming Bolts" or something like that, then I can choose one of those and spend that Black Magic Orb permanently, and I can't do it again until you decide it has been long enough.
