I set up my VR helmet, got them set up with controllers and started a game of Edgelands 2, the best Multiplayer Game in existence. I use the excuse of a game update to explain how I could more accurately control the character, and how her voice and mannerisms seem to match My own. Utilizing the VR helmet at such a low setting gave me ghosts of experiences, how manipulating the energy in game feels when I used my active to pick them up with Telekinesis, and how using the guns I obtain feels and works.
Unfortunately, as should be expected, I was shot, the sensation of a bullet entering my shoulder more than I could handle, I bit back a scream, the controller sent flying as I clutched the aggrieved area, a phantom pain sending white hot bolts beyond anything I had ever experienced before, numbing my mind and filling my ears with my own hissing.
The game is paused, the helmet ripped off by Daniel, the smart one of my group, they look panicked, as they rightly should be, The pain ceases instantly, but my mind still reels with the memory of it, the memory of pain causing my breath to quicken even as the sensation is gone completely.
Honestly, It is likely that I had this coming, considering how drastically I underestimated the power output of my helmet, it's capabilities, my own skill in Edgelands, my tolerance for pain, and the sheer pain of being shot.
