November 4th, 2016Today's the day!
You wake up early in the morning for preparations. You have three things in mind crucial for your plan to work. First is the Wireless Jamming Device. You'll need to make some slight adjustments to it to allow the Fuel Cell MK3 to be plugged into it from the outside instead of using an internal MK4 Energ-E. This is easily done without costing any materials.
The second item of the day is the caltrops. Your plan is based off of the use of 6 caltrops, and you only have 3. There's a slight obstacle, though - you only have 2 out of the 5 required scrap metal. But the gravitas of the situation requires fast action, so you buy 5x scrap metal for
$25. It goes as you would expect, yielding a nice
3x Crude Hollow Caltrops.
Finally, you have to make the darts. You quickly think of how to make enough, and come up with a solid plan -
1x Scrap Metal,
3 ml Knockout Venom and
$45 worth of materials from the store. Darts are a bit too complex for you to make with just scrap metal and no metalworking equipment. But it all works out and you get
3x Knockout DartsWith the initial preparations done, you notice that the time to leave is rapidly approaching. You insert the MK4 Energ-E fuel cell into the buggy, hook the Fuel Cell MK3 and mounted WJD, put on your surely intimidating baggy outfit and racoon mask (and gloves), grab the caltrops, and head out!
Wait, no, you also grab the Injector Crossbow and the 3 knockout darts, then head out!
...
The trip isn't particularly exciting. You get a few odd stares as your tiny Buggy makes its way through the alleys with steadfast determination, but you continue onwards!
...
Finally, you arrive with enough time to spare. It took about 20 minutes longer than you expected, but you continue with your plan. The Buggy, MK3 Cell, and the WJD are all moved off to the side of the road where they can't be easily seen but the Wireless Jamming Device's range still reaches past the road.
You lay the caltrops in the most prominent tire ruts of the dirt road, and also place some around for good measure. You pull over your mask and hide with the rest of your equipment, waiting for the opportunity to strike.
A truck is coming! You peer over the edge of the side and make out Peaceforce's distinctive logo. Today will be a good day for
science! You move your head back down into cover and wait. Eventually you hear the truck starting to pull over.
You hit the switch on the Wireless Jamming Device, and a barely audible
*beep* signifies that its pulse was successful.
The door of the truck opens, and you peer over again. The driver looks at both front wheels (that seem
very flat) and sighs. He motions for the guard, who then gets out and joins him looking at the tire away from where you're standing. This is the time to strike. You grab your Injector Crossbow with its darts and stealth your way close to both of them in a miraculously undetected fashion, then open fire.
Three darts are sent flying through the air, and two of them hit their targets. The guard and the driver spin around, confused. The guard pulls out a dart from his back, looks at you, looks at your posture, then looks at the crossbow you're holding.
Then he makes the connection.
"HEY! STOP!" he yells as you quickly make your way back to the ditch. The
BANG of a handgun resonates throughout the air as he thankfully misses you. Scared for your life, you make a mental note to
run faster. But as you're doing this, you hear a thud behind you. Then another, quieter, one.
You look back and see that both the driver and the guard have collapsed. You wipe the sweat off your forehead and swipe the keys off of their bodies.
The buggy is quickly driven over to the back of the truck which is promptly unlocked. The doors slowly open to the tune of a quiet symphony played mentally and reveal six pieces of artwork lying scattered around the cabin. You quickly evaluate which ones seem the most valuable and grab four that you can fit onto your buggy. Once this is done, you drop the key and make your way back home.
...
Once again, the trip isn't exciting. But about midway through your trip, you hear sirens. How exciting! Surely, they won't know what hit them!
Hopefully.
...
Once back at home, you hide the artwork carefully inside the garage, and do some quick tasks before getting an early night's sleep. First, you check the charge of the batteries. The MK4 Energ-E is at 87.4% of max charge, and the MK3 is at 95% of max charge. Finally, you work on the soothing task of extracting venom from your lethal and somewhat-smart pet scorpions.
Tomorrow shall be a great day for science! Well, whenever you sell that
art, it will be a great day for science, at least.
You
would have gotten $36 today working at your part-time job, but you called in sick.
You harvested 2 ml of venom, turned it into lasting venom, then sold it for
$60.

- Injector Crossbow: A crudely-made crossbow that fires custom-made darts intended for hitting a person or other entity. It requires custom-made darts to function. Mid-range to close-range. Is somewhat inaccurate. Costs $30 and 2x Scrap Metal to make.
- Knockout Venom: A very effective chemical that almost immediately knocks someone out for hours with just 1 ml once inside their body. Costs $2 to make 5 ml Knockout Venom from 1 ml Scorpion Venom. Can be converted back to Scorpion Venom at the same ratio of 5 ml Knockout/1 ml Regular. Expires in 3 days.
- Probe Virus: A basic computer virus sent over email to its target. It doesn't spread to other computers of its own accord, but is very stealthy at gathering information and sending it back to its owner.
- Aerial Remote-Controlled Drone: A small-ish remote-controlled aerial drone. Is extremely maneuverable and quick with a grabber-arm that can grab most small objects, putting them into the drone's container bin, or the arm can perform very limited manipulation of the surrounding environment. Has a small open-air storage bin on the top that's shallow and is 1 1/2" long+wide. A camera on the front transmits a video feed to its controller. Uses MK4 "Energ-E" Cells to power itself. Has a range of 10 miles. Lasts a week on a MK4 "Energ-E" Cell.
- Laser Impact Triangulation Device: A handheld device that can detect the exact position of impacts on surfaces with extreme accuracy up to a mile away. Used for tasks such as determining the location of a person or vehicle on a surface. Utilizes a small display located on the device to display data. Has a range of up to a mile. Extremely unwieldy due to power source. Powered for a week by a MK4 "Energ-E" Fuel Cell.
- Remote-Controlled Robot - A small remote-controlled wheeled vehicle powered by a "Energ-E" MK4 cell, and its accompanying controller. Extremely maneuverable and can navigate over obstacles its size or smaller, can very quickly make turns, and has a great speed relative to other remote-controlled vehicles. The controller and bot have a range of 10 miles and the bot lasts a week on a single "Energ-E" MK4 Cell.
- Hydrogen Fuel Cell MK4 - "Energ-E" (Patented): A hydrogen fuel cell identical to the MK3 in power output and fuel usage, but takes the form of a small cylinder 3 inches in diameter with a height matching about a foot. Can be easily inserted/removed from objects and hot-swapped in addition to being used like an engine similar to the previous Fuel Cells. Utilizes the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Catalyst. Costs $170 to make.
- Hydrogen Fuel Cell MK3: A hydrogen fuel cell that's very roughly about half a meter in length, height, and width. Lasts a day once fully fueled and can provide a fairly large amount of power - a bit more than is needed to run a regular consumer car. Utilizes the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Catalyst. Costs $170 to make.
- Shock Baton: A police baton intended to double as a melee taser device. Only delivers 10 'charges' when fully charged. Actual shocking component is completely useless.
- Hydrogen Fuel Cell MK2: A hydrogen fuel cell that's very roughly about half a meter in length, height, and width. Lasts a month once fueled. Outputs very little power. Costs $150 to make.
- Hydrogen Fuel Cell Catalyst: A chemical compound that speeds up the electrolysis process in fuel cells. Should increase power output at the cost of fuel usage. Costs $20. (Price is added onto the price to create a fuel cell utilizing catalyst)
- Hydrogen Fuel Cell MK1 - "The Long Count": A very large hydrogen fuel cell that takes in hydrogen and oxygen to output power. Once fueled, can continue running for years. Outputs very little power. Is extremely large. Costs $150 to make.
- Antivenom: Antivenom neutralizing venom that can be made in a lab. Requires 1 ml of Venom and $40 for 2 ml of Antivenom.
- QuadChopper: A Quadcopter with dual knives and a wi-fi camera that can reliabily kill or maim a person. Requires other device to control+see camera feed; Needs wi-fi connection
- Wireless Jamming Device: A backpack-like device that jams all wireless operations, including communications such as cell phones, in a 60 meter radius around the device. Goes around back (or can be held, but it is heavy) and can be operated from there. Also around the size of a backpack. Powered by a MK4 Energ-E Fuel Cell. A single fuel cell provides 20 pulses.
- Buggy: A buggy. Tiny single-person open-ended low-to-the-ground vehicle with a top speed of 40mph. Has an open-bed container with minor walling that can carry 1mx1m worth of materials. Uses a single Energ-E MK4 Fuel Cell to run for 36 hours on a full charge.
- Medical Chemicals: Theoretical combination of chemicals that could increase healing in affected area by 300%. Name needs work.
- SPCAAD Ammonia Grenade: A makeshift ammonia grenade that disperses ammonia on impact via the glass container shattering. Effective blast site measures 28 meters in diameter.
- Powdered Venom: Scorpion venom in powder form that lasts forever without expiration. Poses no threat to organisms and can't naturally turn into liquid form.
- Lasting Venom: Scorpion venom that lasts for 2 weeks while remaining just as potent. Sells for $40/ml. Requires 1 ml of Venom and $10 to make 1 ml of Lasting Venom.
- Handheld Microwave Jammer: A handheld (makeshift) gun that disrupts communications in the area it's pointed at. Can also cook food like a microwave if close enough and you really wanted to cook food. Needs to be plugged in.
- Venom Bullet: A bullet that will 'inject' scorpion venom into the victim. Venom expires after 2 days in the bullet.
- Butane Cannon: A projectile cannon that operates off of butane to propel the projectile roughly 40 meters away.
- Makeshift Data Terminal: A rudimentary terminal that accepts and stores data.
Considering the nature of the heist and how it's more plan-intensive than a regular day, I decided to do less combination of actions.
I mostly just took NUKE9.13's plan. Carefulrogue's plan (which Puppyguard supported) is just the summary of Nuke's plan, so I counted that as a +2 for Nuke. It would have been a tie with Fallacy's plan, but the opposition to explosives broke the tie.
Also, fun fact: Remember the stuff that I said would "need work" or something along those lines? I wasn't kidding. You just need to spend time working on that stuff and eventually make enough progress to get a tangible result. I'm saying this because you have three things like this that have been abandoned.
