"I think I will be considered lucky if the sun is the only thing that burns me today." Taukek says after a few more moments thought, his eyes watching the fire dancing on Karimas fingers.

Diane squinted into the distance, looking for any more enemy soldiers. The realization that she had never actually been in any sort of combat was slowly dawning on her, so to reduce the mounting panic, she decided to move.

Her smile grew wider; she barely noticed as Diane scurried up on her other side.

"And the same for our enemies. They'll miss the desert heat when I cook them where they stand."

It was certainly easier to say it now, when they had yet to enter combat, than it would be to follow through. A life following in the wrong footsteps, drawing upon the energies of nature, and poring over the most boring of magical tomes... she had the feeling none of that would prepare her for the act of killing - to fling a flame to snuff a life like a candle.
