Your name, is Joseph Wakefield, and you have just found yourself in another war. One with stakes you cannot fathom, one, with the whole universe, the entirety of all reality, and everything that will be, at stake. A war fought with not with drones nor cannons, not with bombs nor battleships, but with a crowbar outside some lady's house. It seems, that the future, really isn't worth that much. Really, it's like if in one of those generic fantasy stories, the hero from the mundane world found that the war they've been summoned to win was just a drunken brawl in a  McDonald's parking lot. You're not entirely convinced that won't be happening either.

You're lacking in intel, you're lacking in equipment, and you're lacking in backup, and yet somehow, this is still preferable to fighting a JRPG villain who, for reasons that escape you, is apparently dressed for his own crucifixion.

You were still a ways out from the target area, which is just a nicer way of saying "where you and your motley crew will jump someone outside their home", when you encounter a familiar figure, that lady from the wizard's tent, tending to an orange stall. Considering that she had already, back then, appeared and disappeared, presumably through magic, you can't really say that you're too surprised by this development.

"What are you doing here? Isn't this outside the protected area?"

"Eh.....an orange stall?"

[Chevaleresse]

"What are you doing here? Isn't this outside the protected area?"

"I'm selling oranges. Yes, this is outside the protected area, but I am not doing anything that would threaten the Fiends and would rouse more trouble than they care to create should they interfere."

"Eh.....an orange stall?"

"Indeed. Would you like to buy anything?"

[TheBiggerFish]

Team Kokoro, I Guess:

"Why on earth, or not on earth, are you selling oranges in the middle of nowhere?"

[Chevaleresse]

She sighs slightly. "Because I need money just as much as the next person, at least for the time being."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"W-wouldn't you get more business elsewhere?"

[Chevaleresse]

"Yes, which is why this is not my only stand. Now, can I interest you in any of these?" She makes a sweeping gesture at her wares, then offers up the combination of a deep sigh and shake of her head before continuing. "They're simply divine."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"S-sure, I guess...."

[Chevaleresse]

"Which would you like? It's two gold for five oranges or one of almost everything else."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Just the oranges, please. I'm, uh, kinda hungry...."
Ryuto sheepishly hands over two gold he's scrounged up.

[Twinwolf]

Sera (who had been there the whole time) shrugs. She still had like 50 gold, spending two is hardly an issue and she never did have breakfast that morning. She hands over 2 gold.

[Chevaleresse]

The gold-eyed woman selects two paper bags and deposits five oranges each into them after accepting the payment, handing one each to Sea and Ryuto. "Thank you for your business. Would anyone else like any?" She does look oddly out of place operating an orange stand; who needed those kinds of robes for such an occupation?

[Powder Miner]

Mawr squinted at the man. To see someone so close to this castle all the way out...
"You... are you affiliated with Thiyr?"

[TheBiggerFish]

Mir looks at the orange seller.

"Might I ask your name, by the way?"

[Chevaleresse]

"Saigai Mitsurugi, once known as Saigai-no-Kami. And yours?"

Nobunaga raises an eyebrow, but declines comment for the time being.
