The boy seems to want to draw his sword but can't actually get it out of the sheath.

"N-no..."

The stone man laughs loudly and long. The boy almost feels the ground shake... "To put it bluntly, we have been drafted. Our will to fight is no longer our own - it has been decided for us by FATE ITSELF!" He strikes a sudden pose.

Joseph sees an old man, a brooding teenager with an eye-patch and a secret agent in a purple tent apparently holding magical items.

[SOLDIER First]

"What?! What do you mean? _{and stop posing like that you look dumb"}

[Empiricist]

>[X]Wait your turn and listen. The conversation might be worth hearing.

[Corsair]

"Excuse me, uh sir... can I just... get some stuff....I'll just look for a bit then"
John looks exasperated and waits for the youth to stop arguing with the older man
John looks over the inventory

Ryuto peruses the weapon rack.

[Sl4cker]

"What?! What do you mean? _{and stop posing like that you look dumb"}

He shrugs. "We're here because someone couldn't fight their own battles. Apparently if we win we go home." He then suddenly picks the boy up, scrutinizing him. "Now, who are you and how do you fight?"

"Excuse me, uh sir... can I just... get some stuff....I'll just look for a bit then"

There doesn't seem to be much of anything at all in the tent. The teenager scoffs. "Whatever. This place is fucking bullshit anyway." He folds his arms and walks away.

The old man sighs. "What will you be buying today?"

Ryuto peruses the weapon rack.

Knives, bows, maces, flails, hammers... the swords have their own separate rack. The knight picks up a leather-shield, inspects it, and places it on the counter.

[Empiricist]

>Tap John on the shoulder "I'll be back in a bit, tell me if there's anything interesting later will you?", then, head off after the angsty boy "What was that all about?"

[Sl4cker]

He makes a "Tch" sound. "Does it matter to you?"

[Empiricist]

>"As an ally? Yes; our necks are all on the line here."

[Sl4cker]

He glares. "The asshole doesn't sell the tomes I need. That's it."

[Empiricist]

>[X]"For future reference, what kinda tomes do you need?"

[Sl4cker]

"Black magic, dark magic, ancient magic, whatever the hell you want to call it. If it's black or purple, that's probably it. Now, could you leave me alone?"

[Empiricist]

>"Sure, sure."

Joseph saunters back into the store, nodding at John.
"Didn't take as long as I thought it would."
Turning to face the old man he smiles and says
"Black magic. Dark magic. Ancient magic. Got tomes on any of 'em?"
