(Khaiden notices speech patterns and changes his to match those around him. He's got years of experience blending in before striking, and he really wants in on Akras. As for the technology, it's supposed to be easy to use and Khaiden's a quick learner. He may not be able to read, but he can memorize what does what.)

(not entirely sure where you got "easy to use" from but even if your character was interested, it's still completely alien to him)

((We've been shown how to use the helmets multiple times it's plausible that Khaiden would know how to use one of the most basic instruments. And I don't see you having any trouble using tech aside from getting it to fit.))
