((Once again, I'm sorry for the late update. Also, yeah, I'm changing/removing/adding the victims scripted to die in the original game. Different format, different events.))
Introduction: The Outbreak (Part Two)
Location(s): Fortune City Arena, The Silver Strip
Time Remaining: N/A
Music: None
With stumbling feet and the sound of shoes smacking against pavement, the clumsiness of the criminal in from of Samuel, Phillip Hoffman, is made more and more apparent. With a crazed look in his eye, Phillip charges right towards Samuel with knife in hand, with the intent being to sink the silver blade into his throat. [A/D: 8 vs. 9] With a quick sidestep, Samuel barely dodges Phillip's knife, though he isn't surprised that he's had a bit of practice. Samuel clears his throat and says, "
You people really like your knives, don't you?", before walking over to Phillip. He tries to attack, but Samuel fights back by throwing a quick knee. [A/D: 5 vs. 14] Despite his self taught brawler style, Samuel's knee is suddenly and effortlessly blocked by Phillip, who throws it down and pushes him away. [Spot Check: 20] Despite the sheer adrenaline on display, Phillip, Samuel, and the old lady who's purse theft started the fight, all hear someone yell out, "EVERYONE! There's been a Zombie outbreak at the Arena! We need everyone to get into the safe room near the Arena. It's in harm's way, but once you're in, you're fine!". Samuel looks to Phillip, who looks angry. One waits for the other to make a move...
One would think that upon hearing that Zombies are loose in the building, your first response would be panic. With quick breaths and the mutters of "
Shit shit shit shit...", it's quite clear that Joachim is, in fact, doing just that. With all of the survivors that heard the woman in tow, Joachim throws the doors open and sprints outside where, thanks to several outdoor containment areas, Zombies are outside as well. Joachim peers out and looks for the alley. [Spot Check: 14+2 (Assistance)] Thanks to the quick feet and survival instinct (and a couple of tourism maps by the entrance), Joachim and a few survivors make their trek. About five follow his sprinting form: three men and two women. With Zombies all around, they try to reach out and grab them. [Range Check: 11] They only manage to touch one of the men [A/D: 17 vs. 7], but the damage is done as he is grabbed and dragged into the Horde, screaming and yelling as the sound of tearing flesh sends sickening chills down the spines of everyone running. Up the path, Joachim can see quite a few more survivors running over to the Safe Room, and Joachim continues running. [Distance Check: 4] Despite all his running, setback after setback (and by setback, that of course means corpses) slow him down. Surrounded by a Horde focused on other humans, he begins to have flashbacks to hearing the news about Willamette as the chase goes on.
Were it not for the residual panic taking over his senses, James would be smiling right then and there. Anim White and Chuck Greene, two Zombie killing beasts. With a bit more time to look around, everyone notices a Security Guard's corpse lying on the ground. James, the Opportunist that he is, walks over and investigates the body, trying to find something that can help fight them off. [16] He finds a Handgun, a confiscated Bowie Knife, and a Zombrex shot. Hearing a voice behind him, probably Chuck's, saying, "
Hey, buddy? My daughter needs that medicine. If you need it, that's fine, but it would probably help to have some.", he pockets the items. He then turns to them and asks, "
I, uh, don't suppose you fellas have anything constituting a weapon on you, eh?". [Inventory Check: 12 and 11] Anim wordlessly holds out a Fire Axe pilfered from outside of his room, while Chuck holds out a Baseball Bat, probably from a careless fan or a confiscation. They all walk to the door, prepared to run and fight their way through...
