The ship docks at the lower pylon and begins the complex task of resupplying the ship. A few families prepare for to say goodbye to their loved ones who are planning to make their way in the world while the port-masters look around for anyone skilled and desperate enough to buy onto a voidship.
The travel up the spine is impressive, particularly for Sierra-Beta as she gets a first hand look at the waste disposal, ore transfer and power conduits. To everyone else it looks like an ugly display of wires and pipes with a few windows and airlocks. A few of the advanced crew in good standing going out for shore leave make their way with the command staff, as the lift could hold a large tank with room to spare. They look around nervously out the windows and around the lift at the mighty and terrifying sights.
The lift opens up into a large cavern covered in machines for moving cargo, along the floor and lining the walls. Three rail systems stretch off into tunnels leading through the solid rock. Already carts of food and other supplies are rolling in from elsewhere in the station. Bored workers laze about when shouting from a few overseers start up, probably in response to the two figures approaching your position with a squad of armed and armored guards.
The plump figure with a broad flat face bedecked in long flowing robes of many different colors, carried by several servo skulls, is introduced as Tradesmaster Filip Tristán Sven Cirino Fonseca by one of the skulls, this one gilded in silver. He apologizes profusely for the necessity of you docking in the lower pylons, as the upper one was reserved for another captain. Sarvus at least hears the implication hidden in his words, another captain more wealthy and powerful then you. Fonseca offers an escort to the House of Scales, as the governors manse is called, and to arrange "appropriate" bedding for crewmen and leaders alike. He continues sly insults that seem to offer no real purpose arranged through his speech.
The other figure is in full carapace armor, a hellgun of unusual make strapped to her back, though her helmet is off. She has a sharp face, long brown hair and a thick scar across her forehead ending in a bionic eye. She has a stern look as she introduces herself as Arbitrator Ioudith, chief of security and justice on the station. She gives a short speech, mostly to your crew, about the need to maintain order and the swift nature of the law. Her manners are direct and full of routine then respect, but she explains to the command staff the basics of trade and employment on the station. Everything goes in and out is inspected both for proscribed goods and so that appropriate taxes can be paid. She is also one of four other judges who handle inter-faction disputes and makes it clear that she considers the Warrant of Trade no more important then other legal posts.
While the other command staff introduce themselves or walk along Bron and Blightfang break off with the shore leave crew then stop into a food stall installed into the wall of the train tunnel. The station guards give them no notice, likely due to their ship of origin, though that may not come to pass if found deeper in the station. After eating a few sticky meat buns the old woman directs them down a passage for a little more fun.
After walking down a side passage filled with private births and a few shops selling tickets and common goods they ascend some steps to a dead end featuring a tavern. They pass through, buy some drinks and then exit out the back. Here is a large maintenance tunnel turned flophouse, going off in either direction. Tents and boarded up holes in the walls make simple living areas, although a few junkies are passed out on the floor. The grav plating seems uneven here and only a few lights are working, although an open plasma vent lights up the way a few meters down.
Anything you guys want to do or interact before the opera go ahead. The two will lead you there.
Bron and Blightfang, choose something to go after first cultists, fighting ring, xenos, kroot or something else, either together or separately. This will be a simple exploration test. To do this you need to decide on exploration or other relevant skills to use. For example you could use awareness, search, an advanced exploration skill (or an interaction skill in this case).
