You gain a point of experience every time you perform a basic action within a highlighted stat. After 5 experience points, you gain an improvement point, and can pick an an option from your improvement chart. After you finish your Hx chart, you pick the character you know most, and tell them to highlight whatever stat you want, as long as it's not already taken.

What exactly is Hx anyway, and how do we do this?

Hx from what I understand is some expression of character interrelation. It's like a much more variable attribute, in that you add and subtract points to it all the time in the course of play and use it for some specific inter-PC rolls.

It's how well you know a character. Not how well you like them.

Hx is History, how much you feel you know the other person.

We go around telling each other what they should write on their sheet based on our playbook.
