Appearance: Small girl with short black hair, brown eyes and a heavily tanned complexion. Faded red tattoos mark her cheeks just below her eyes.
Personality: Relaxed and cheerful, with a slight mischievious edge. Tends to talk to Uhane, her pegasus, especially when she believes that no one is watching.
Bio: Aina is a daughter of the Laputa tribe, perhaps the most prominent of the pegasi cultures that dot the Summer Isles. Of them, it is said that they can live their whole lives without ever setting foot on the ground. While this is an exaggeration, this statement does highlight how important pegasi are to Laputa culture, going so far as to seasonally migrate along with their pegasi.
It is during one of these seasonal migrations that Aina, while scouting ahead in search of land, found herself caught in a freak storm that sent her careening well off course. When the storm cleared, she found herself in completely foreign waters with "not a wing beat to be heard".
In her search for any signs of her family, she found a curious sight instead. A strange ship, larger and taller than any she has seen before, and on board were men speaking in tongues that she only barely recognised as from those traders that occasionally came to trade with her tribe for pegasi. When approaching them to explain her situation and ask for help, those men instead attempted to seize both her and her pegasus. It is only quick thinking and even quicker wings that enabled her escape. Flying ahead of that ship, she eventually made landfall on a strange foreign land that she would only later recognise as the western shore of the Mamikon Isthmus.
Those were events that have happened years ago. Since then she has spent that time wandering across the Mamikon Isthmus, doing odd jobs and searching for ways for her to return to her tribe. Her wandering eventually lead her to the City of Alife, where a chance encounter with a fellow Laputa speaker led her to the house of Merchant Ovidio, who offered to grant her passage back to the Summer Isles if she would help him with restoring a certain Prince to the Aenian throne...
