Terrain and its Effects

The Free City of Alife is well-known for being the centre of rumours and gossip, its inhabitants ready to latch on any juicy scrap of information that comes their way, no matter how false it may be. Thus whispers that Prince Jan of the Kingdom of Aen, long thought to have died three decades before from a fatal illness in his youth, is not only alive but preparing to reclaim his throne are thus easily dismissed by those outside the city. Yet apparently some take these rumours seriously, for how else can one explain the various orders have been placed to the city's merchants and craftsmen? Demands for weapons and gold? Favours called in and equipment procured? At the same time these suspicious orders have been placed, a call has been raised for mercenaries and soldiers to assemble at the house of Merchant Ovidio and act as the vanguard of the Prince's future armies. The daunting task set out before them, to conquer the crown of Aen for a man who has not seen the country for almost four decades, would be more than enough to dissuade the bravest of soldiers. But surely some would be idealistic and honourable enough, or equally desperate and foolhardy, to accept such a call for arms.

The game will start with at most 8 players, all of them bodyguards to the so-called Prince Jan of Aen as he journeys to recover his rightful throne. As per tradition, players will be starting as trainees and levelling up to First Class. Applications will be accepted on Friday at the earliest. The game is not first come first served, but players will be selected based on the quality and appropriateness of their sheets when the game starts.

Bio: A thief born in a small village in Aen a couple years after her sister, Alisa. They lived a relatively normal, if not exactly well-to-do life, until their father died suddenly. This made it difficult for the single mother to make ends meet, so both of her daughters started to "work" to make up the difference. Unlike her sister, who held information to be just as valuable as any material goods they might be able to find, Ava held herself to slightly more mundane larceny, sneaking about in the dead of night to procure food and various items to pawn off to keep everything paid for - though she did occasionally keep a magic tome or two to ponder in her free time. Their mother, however, wasn't keen on their criminal habits, and so the two were left to fend for themselves together. When the call to arms for the prince rang out, she followed her sister in heeding it, certain that she'd be able to get her hands on all sorts of valuables - including swords, something she'd always sort of wanted - and not even have anyone upset at her over acquiring them.

Yeah! Ok, so I have my idea. Gonna do daughter of former Captain of the Royal Knights of Aen who served Prince's father for most of his life. He was training his daughter to take his place some day but ended up getting removed from power by the prince after he spoke out against the war. When rumors of new prince started popping up, he sent his daughter to see what sort of truth is behind these rumors.

She's gonna be a bandit. I'll expand more on backstory in actual signup that I'll get up tomorrow but that's the general idea~

*full tank or half measure I'm not sure, specially with the loss of armored.

Bio: Athros is yet another mercenary hailing from Free City, though one of odd reputation and behavior. While willing to take most offered jobs, he claims that his objective isn't gaining money, but instead assisting the Goddess Khordad, or even that she decided he should help them. He is often found wearing a golden armor and referring to himself as a knight despite his sellsword status and reputation for sarcasm and laughing at people's problems. He gained the title "the Kind" not due to kindness or eagerness in assisting others, but as a sarcastic jab at his despicable behavior. Athros gladly embraces his moniker, removing the sarcastic part and claiming to be the "kind hand for those who are lost and looking for assistance". Unfortunately the title is misleading and induces some into thinking he's a good man.

He often tries to fool others to get what he needs, or turns his back on those who aren't useful anymore, as in his mind the only people he should interact with are followers of Goddess Khordad. Athros isn't exactly a follower of all of Anahitism's beliefs, showing fanaticism towards Khordad alone and truly believing she chose him to purify Earth of its demons. Unfortunately Athros has a very twisted vision of what or who are those demons; consequently anything or anyone trying to stop him will be considered a demon or a traitor.

Craziness aside, he gets the job done. That's the only thing that matters when hiring a mercenary, right?
