You ask him about the rumors. He scratches his stubbly chin and takes a sip of his ale. He starts to talk, 'they say that the vikings are having a famine. The war didn't treat them well. They have been raiding all along the southern coast, they don't dare attack the old kingdom though, they seem to be content to raid their traders and send their ships to rot.' He sips his ale again. 'I... Have been meaning to take a look at one of the shipwrecks... There should be a few good pickings on them.' He chuckles, taking another sip of his ale. He suddenly frowns. '... But if those vikings come here, we'll be in trouble. We've no one capable of holding a sword. Except for me of course, but mine is rusty. I doubt we'll stand much of a chance...'
He stops talking, lost in his own thoughts.

Vol'nar hears the cloaked man's words and asks if there is something we could do to help.

All of the people in the room stop what they're doing and stare at you all.
The innkeeper breaks the silence.
Help?... Us?...
Really?
No - one waits for your responses, instead immediately going wild with joy and you are suddenly offered free drinks, on the house. And free room and board.
The stranger finally gets to speak with you a bit later.
'If you would ow help us, that would be brilliant! The things that those vikings do to people! Oh... Sacraficing people to their gods, enslaving people, impaling them on trees... But you'll protect us!
... Right?

Riiight... Well, we got what we've searched for. Chance for glory and death!

Shipwrecks also sound good as a starting scouting counter-raid.

Rightio then!
He seems tipsy from the ale.
I'm Daniel by the way, mayor of this... Settlement.
*you hear rain and thunder*
Huh. A storm. No matter, we're safe in here!
He takes a long drink of ale. He walks away, in a drunken stupor.

Omnious. Well, doesn't really matter. If vikings come, they come and then we'll be killing them.

((Also, you have TWO Rainor Austrias in hero roster. Is it my evil twin or something?))

Oops! I thought that I had fixed that, brb.
edit:
Fixed it. I think that at one point there had been three of you. I used your sheet as a template to copy, paste and edit. I deleted one, thinking that it was all.

Tyr enjoys a couple of drinks, content to let others do the talking while he observes the room. He smiles upon hearing news of the Vikings, his anticipation rising as he imagines the battle to come. He steps outside for a breath of air, and to watch the storm for a bit.

I have made an update to the OP. An important update. Remember, this is still a rpg, but with rtd elements.

You go to sleep in the inn, the night's festivities having put younto sleep. You have a shared dream of odd numbers and skills, before younare woken up by a loud bell. Suddenly, Daniel comes in, yelling:
Panic! They're coming!
You all look out the window of your shared room, and you realize that the vikings are indeed coming. You get your weapons, and ready yourselves downstairs. You gather into the square, the bell in the village hall still tolling.
Already, three vikings attack you, although spyro seems to have ceased to move.

Ready your weapons, and FIGHT!!!
