A wolf is seen kreeping by. You fire arrows at it but it slips by.

You track down the wolf. You did manage to wound it after all. You quickly put it out of it's misery. The livestock is safe another night thanks to you.

Three men with raiding gear are seen walking the road. They wave at you not to shoot.

They appear startled. After making some obscense gestures at you, they quickly disperse. You're not falling for thier tricks.

Incident 3

You spot a bear. You shout at it but it still mosies into range of your arrow. You clearly get 3 arrows on it before it slunks pasts, into the darkness towards the kingdom.

You track down the beast. You put it out of its misery. Well done. Suddenly you feel a terrible pain on your back- the creature had jumped up and swiped at you! It pushes you on the ground and then collapses at your side. Dead.

The next day the Guard Master is very impressed with your feets. He will look into sending more help your way but recruits are tight as it is. A small reward has been offered to a farmer who can spend some nights helping you.

Recruit a farmer. Choose a bay12 user to be a 'hero unit'  to help you. I may not always give this person a fair amount of time to respond but you will never need them to progress. If they do well they can even be recruited as a formal guard and recieve training.
