I've been meaning to ask, what about the unplayable races that used to be in it? The ice giants (whatever they were called) are kind of replaced with stuff from one of the optional addons, but there were the automatons if I recall. Can't see them fitting into any of your four factions though.

There are plenty of invader races already.
Some of them would deserve to be 'uplifted' into proper playable civs, like Pandashi.

Some should be removed for good, like beak wolves (they are like totally pointless, especially now when corpses cannot be butchered) or War Elephants (same as wolves) or Hellfire Imps (due to how fire is handled, they are totally OP).

I have never, not even once, encountered automatons in my games. They were there, but they never attacked me once.
Jotun did however - their fireballs caught me by surprise, but once I dealt with firestarters the rest was just a matter of time.

What I would like to see, but it is not currently possible (I think) would be a civilization of multiracial entities (like mentioned beast men alliance).

Drows could be back, for some reasons they are absent from current MDF.

I think that a list of current playable and invader civs should be revised. More is not always better.
