You awake from a cold dark place into a land where the overhead sky is made of scorching flames. You find yourself completely and utterly naked and find to your surprise that you have been reduced to a skeleton. You look around you: you're not alone. A conspicuously well-dressed skeleton armed with four revolvers and an evil look in his eye sockets approaches out of a red mist.
He introduces himself as Ephraim Walsh, Mine Manager of Shining Bluff and informs you that you are in-fact quasi-dead. He explains: using evil magic, his employers have prevented your souls from entering the afterlife. From the unnatural shadows emerges three large brutish creatures that look nearly like the bastard combination of a gorilla and a lizard. They each are carrying crates. Inside the first are frayed and stained rag ponchos covered in soot. Ephraim explains that these are your clothes while you work in the mines and that if you do well you may earn new clothes. In the second are leather backpacks. In the third are five-shot revolvers in a holster with an adjustable leather belt.
So equipped, he leads you into the mines and points out the pickaxes and mining helmets among piles of now inanimate bone. He tells you that these are the miners who have failed their job and warns you of a chilling fact: "Their souls are still bound to their bones. There is no escape. While you are whole, you can move and speak and think as you could while you were alive. Should you find yourself so dismembered, you'll find the thinking to be all you can do. Do not disappoint and I'd advise you not waste any bullets!"
At last he shows you what you'll be mining for: An obsidian crystal with a violet inner glow. He says that each of you will have your own minecart and that the more you extract, the better you'll be rewarded, and that underperforming will not be tolerated. He says that should you do particularly well, you'll be allowed to settle in Shining Bluff and "live" out quite comfortable lives.
So now here you are in the dark of the mines. Who are you, how did you die, and what will you do?

If it's not bolded, it won't be counted. Free actions are ones that involve RP: adjusting your clothes, talking, gesturing to one another. Movement around the same pace is a free action, but moving to another area is an action that must be bolded and underlined. Per turn, you can move once and perform three actions.
At the end of each turn the results of the actions and your character's status will be posted. Status includes things such as health ( the structural integrity of your bones and their connections to one another ), inventory, current job description ( everyone starts as a miner ), equipped objects ( including crystals mined ), and wealth - if any.

Name: Jeremiah Nix
Bio: A young man in life with ambitions of saving the world, he chose to move to the big cities and learn the art of doctoring, planning on taking it back to the small towns that he knew as home. Sadly, life got cut short, and now he's surrounded by things that look the diagrams in his old textbooks.
Abilities: Diagnosis: Use on creature to determine general information about organism's structure and physiology, and determine any injuries and ailments on sight.
Name: Jack Carter
Bio: 25 year old human male. In his previous life, he was a mercenary, often hired by caravans to escort them to their destination. He was known for his speed with a pistol and his accuracy with a rifle. In his free time, he liked to find rattlesnakes and test his reflexes against theirs.
Abilities:Quickdraw: Jack is never caught off guard. He is able to catch some slow projectiles (like knives) and dodge others(like arrows). He is quick with his pistol as well.
Name:Mort Theremis
Background:Mort was a mage! If a surprisingly inept one who got exploded.
Abilities:
Sense Magic:Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Necromantic Knowhow:Mort has some facility with necromancy, the manipulation of corpses and spirits.

Bio: A middle aged dancer who has had multiple lives. In one, he was a interpretive dancer who managed to get elected as mayor for the town he lived in, while in another he led a small foodstand to victory in a cookout. One thing is for sure: he's a bit awkward to know and be around.
Abilities: Moonwalk: He naturally moonwalks everywhere, confusing everyone he comes across and making it hard for them to predict where he is actually going to go for the first few turns he encounters them. After a while people will get used to it, however.
