Uh

I don't know how acquisitions work -_-;

Also if we have too many heavy weapons specialists I could switch it to something like Flame instead.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Its more Stirk complaining that heavy weapons are supposed to be something you have at like tier 4, and we have three guys with it at tier 1   :-\.

Acquisitions are pretty easy. Reposting the sheet:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Basically there are three categories: How rare something is (Shown next to the weapon or item), how many you want, and the craftmanship. Here you are only getting one item (probably :P) so you get a +30 initially. If you choose an Extremely Rare item (-30 penalty), you could only afford common craftmanship (no bonus.)

After chargen, its basically the same thing, but the result doesn't have to be +0 and you roll against the profit factor.

Have you brought it up with the GM?

I'm honestly not entirely sure what to go with. Probably not anything like Power Armor. I'd consider a Bolter but it's only slightly better than the Hellgun. Maybe a Melta of some sort or other for dealing with heavily armored enemies or whatever. Or, a Flame weapon of some sort for... whatever it is that's special about Flame weapons.

Flame weapons have two advantages. First, they don't require a BS test to use, rather hitting based on the enemies agility test. For low BS characters, this means they have a much greater chance of hitting the target. Second, they have a decent chance of setting the enemy on fire, doing a bunch of damage that ignores defenses and probably keeps them from doing anything but either screaming or putting it out.

As for Bolters, the Tearing quality does raise its average damage up quite a bit (you roll an extra dice, then keep the highest). The Hellgun already has a pen of 7, so all but the heaviest of armors and vehicles will fall to it. If you want a bolter that is a *lot* better than a hellgun, you can afford the heavy bolter, which completely runs rings around it. For basic weapons, the Storm Bolter actually fires two rounds for each one listed, making it also a lot better than the hellgun.

And I have kvetched about it to the general public, which is close enough :P.

If you want a Bolter, the Scourge Boltgun from Faith and Coin is considered Scarce, has mostly the same stats but is a bit heavier and has a sub-par melee weapon built in.

I would personally get a bolt carbine out of the rifle-style bolters, but thats mostly because its actually reliable.

I'm liking the look of the Storm Bolter... but that might be too OP for a start?

Who is this Gilgamesh, and why is his name and starting equipment so similar to mine?

But then a Heavy Bolter could make use of the weapon proficiency from Hand of War...

I am an indecisive person :P

I didn't realise there was a Weeaboo career

Heavy bolters are pretty great. I was tempted to go for one of those myself.
