I just wanted to mention that jet-engines seem like a dead-end. Doesn't work in space, seems too bulky for missiles, It would be pretty much exclusively useful for transport craft. The aliens should have better technology for all the situations in which jest would work...

I agree, mostly. For interceptors and possible shuttle style spaceships, I've been thinking aerospikes would be ideal. Fast, capable of running in thin atmospheric conditions, and generally powerful.

If we did, +1, but I think they either got scrambled by the tractor beam or got blown out into space.

Who knows, we could always develop a nuclear ramjet.

'Pluto' Ramjets might be nice, but any form of reactor is far, far off. Expensive, too. I just don't like the idea of anything other than a spaceship powered by nuclear energy.

He has issues getting access to a computer, from what I can tell.

At this point it is being able to get consistant access for a long enough period of time that isn't taken up by homework, but yes, this is the reason I am looking for a replacement.  I could put in on an undefined hiatus, but last time I did that with this type of game (Stone Age Design), the game died out fully.  Would be better to get a replacement GM.

Thats exactly what they want you to do. Thats why the Soviets designed not one but two submersible landing ships and the Chinese are designing a submersible aircraft carrier, they know people will forget that they are things.

I have always kind of wondered what happens if a nuclear-powered submarine is destroyed in a fishery. It seems sort of reckless to put nuclear reactors in military assets, especially mobile ones whose location cannot be guaranteed. I mean, it seems sort of stupid to design a military asset without acknowledging that it is likely to suffer from spontaneous rapid dispersion... But, meh, that is too political for this thread, or The Cold War...

But it is worth considering that an exploding alien reactor might cause any nearby starfish to become amorphous and super-intelligent...

If a sub goes down, it's going down into deep ocean, where it won't irradiate anything besides fish. Even then, submarines are hard to hit, and harder to find.

Heh.  I actually have a 'Terror from the Deep' plan if this were to occur.

I'm think i have the time to be a new GM.
But i'd like to make some changes, mainly starting up an alien design side and haveing the aliens invade in a few turns time.

If you're ok with those changes then let me know and i'll get started.

I can't agree to these changes.

Former:
The additional phases were not at all really set up to handle a second side, much less the Aliens being the second side, so I would prefer to keep it a suggestion game.  Besides that, the aliens so stupidly far outclass the Forenians it isn't even funny.  They've only encountered the two slowest and smallest craft the aliens have available and the most basic of the alien troops, and things are not going well.  An player-controlled Alien side would just stomp the Forenians completely.  And this isn't getting in on where exactly you could go with them.  At least the Forenians are advancing to a tech level that has some of its mechanics detailed.

Latter:
The aliens have already started their invasion and I have a set of triggers as to how they start to step up their invasion.  Prefer the timeline is stuck to, with only slight modifications to keep things balanced based upon the designs the Forenians have.

List of Things to do, Forenian Weapons Department 1941, Extended:
*Missiles!
*This 'nuclear' thing.
*Intelligence on the invaders.
*Detectives for odd happenings.

Honestly not sure of anything else. Hoping someone can step up to the plate, though!
