i might actually play this, but you need to fix the errors you made in GMing previously. (Namely, caving to impatient players instead of preserving the plot as it was intended to run.)

I am not sure if enforcing what I want, over what players want, is really a good thing to do

well, just look at what happened last time. You gave the people what they wanted and it completely derailed your plans and killed the game. I'm not saying ignore the players, mind you, but don't let that kind of thing happen. The GM is not a slave to their players.

Take them into consideration and allow them to be able to change the plot due to in character actions but not OOC whining if it makes sense the plot is changed becuase of something the players are doing in game then feel free to change the plot to accommodate that just I know that you'll be able to do good.

I'll be up for this, obviously. I've invested too much time into RotMG to back out how. The Stockholm syndrome is real, folks.

Personally I feel like the last RotMG failed because people weren't really interacting as much as they should have been. I should know because I was very much guilty of that. Having a good reason for the players to be forced together and interact with each other, at least in the beginning, should help with that. Being part of the same refugee camp is not as tight as, say, being in the same year of class or part of the same crimefighting group. Being part of the same foster family was a great idea, in my opinion, which suffered from people's impatience and pacing issues. Hopefully we can resolve these issues and make a RotMG that stands the test of time.

Also if people are really going to complain about a dark/serious RotMG, I could always finish the RotMG:Ghostbusters idea I've mentioned a few times. It will definitely start out as light and fun, with some serious points as the plot develops. I mean, the PCs are making deals with devils to hunt ghosts for them. Losing a soul or two along the way is to be expected.

nut up boi

Yeah I'm down for it. I really liked the last RotMG on a conceptual level, and was sad to see it deteriorate. I actually tend to enjoy the more realistic aspects of roleplaying games, whether it's in the story, characters or combat.

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.
