How do I get electrum

Reading the wiki it claims that I can make electrum from gold nuggets and silver ore (galena) but I've never seen an option for it. I have plenty of free ore, and gold and silver bars too for that matter, so what am I missing?

I believe you only gain the option when the Dungeon Master turns up.

I think he was looking for the line of reasoning as to why electrum is linked to DMs.

'Cause only DMs would be silly enough to mess with a material like Electrum?

Though really, it would be an interesting bloat to have Electrum veins when Gold and Silver veins run together.  Naturally occurring Electrum was actually the material of the very first coins that have been found.
