Yesterday I came up with an idea for a Rogue Trader game that takes some material from DH and OW and which I believe would be quite interesting. I'm not able to run any games in my current situation, so I decided to post here in case it piques a GM's interest.

I'd previously thought about an all-mutant RT game but failed to come up with a good in-universe reason for that to exist, but I recently thought of one: what if it's a game that dips a bit into other two (DH and OW) game lines? A game where the Inquisition has repeatedly tried but failed to do something rather difficult (such as capture/eliminate a fugitive heretic of power/influence) and a few more radically-minded members concocted a plan that requires them to do something outrageous?

The idea would be that the Inquisition set up a team composed of powerful/useful mutants and loose cannons from IG (only penal?) regiments. They'd have been chosen to infiltrate an area of space (maybe a region of the Koronus Expanse) under the guise of a Rogue Trader's crew, fitted with explosives implants and told to behave, complete their main mission and then receive a reward (like freedom, a comfortable job somewhere hidden, or not being executed).

The Rogue Trader would receive a genuine Writ of Trade and told to do Rogue Trader-ish things while/in between trying to fulfill the Inquisition's assignments—kind of like the Captain of the Occurrence Border in AGP—but their main job would be working as the minder/watchman for the motley group of senior officers. Of course, the rest of the ship's crew would be composed of disguised Inquisitorial/Navy personnel to eliminate the chances of a mutiny siding with the mutants and loose cannons.

The logic would be that crooked people would be able to find more crooks, and their main mission would be difficult/tricky enough there'd be a lot of time to concentrate on Rogue Trader-ing and side missions from the Ordos. The Rogue Trader/minder would play the stern, straight man to the strange senior crew, and a lot of fun would be had by all. The ship I could easily design and then run by the GM—since it's the Inquisition we're talking about, I thought about either a battlecruiser or grand cruiser.

As far as character mechanics go, I think we should use OW's with high starting exp., but let the mutant players start at lower experience but choose one of several useful mutations from the Rogue Trader core rulebook's table. Ship-combat would be RT, maybe with the "Mathhammer" revised rules.

In fact I like the concept enough I'd be willing to offer help where possible, on top of my usual poking to keep games moving and prevent their death. Stuff like checking sheets, making decisions on crew, setting up options (like the one with possible mutations), helping people create characters and whatnot.

To put it broadly: Extremely dangerous undesirables taken out of prison on the understanding they will do some nigh suicidal task, and if they succeed they get reduced sentences (presumably until they're out).

i have a few ideas:
A) A Twilights 2k game with a bit of stalker mixed in mostly the exo suits but probably some custom diy weapons and armoured fighting vehicles as well.

B) A modern day crime thriller.
You wake up in a strange room with a surgical scar on your collar bone and voice tell you that you have been implanted with remote controlled bomb and must acquire a vast sum of cash in the next 7 days or it will detonate.

Unfortunately its generally much harder to find GMs then it is to find players. The RT game would be fairly difficult to run, given that it requires at least some familiarity with three gamebooks and the setting, in addition to changes to those rules to make the idea work.

I might do it myself, but I don't feel like it .
