Just wanted to let everyone know that I finished my tour and will continue updates this friday. Thank you for being patient.

In case you want to have a look at what I was up to, here pics from the bike tour, from Mont Blanc, and from the Zugspitze.

I'll now get started with the update for Friday, first point on the list: Fixing the Stal's Armory Pack crashes.

Did three test forts with varying degrees of stals armory pack and other item packs installed. I can save and load all of them without crashes, but... I found this:

Duplicate Object: item ITEM_WEAPON_SLING
Duplicate Object: item ITEM_SHOES_WRAPS

The last update I made for kobolds included these two items, which are also in stals pack. This is most likely the source of the trouble. Easy to fix. :)

All right... how about a new feature for dwarves.

Crystal growing.

This can be done in RL with alum, (mixing salts, aluminum and potassium with water), and waiting a long time. You need a so called seed-crystal, and around it grows your new, larger crystal.

I'd make a new workshop, crystal garden for example, and you need potash (potassium) and an aluminum bar to build it. It would create seed crystals from gems you have... those can then be planted in a farmplot, and a year later you can harvest your larger, new crystals/gems.

A slow, sustainable crystal glass and gemstone production, reasonably based on RL science. :)

It was on my todo list for Nagas, who should heavily work with water, glass and gems, but since they turned out to be rather tricky to write, I see no reason why dwarves shouldnt cultivate rocks. :D

This sounds interesting, but I'd ask you to use some term other than "gem seed" since there's already something similar in The Earth Strikes Back! (TESB's seeds are more useful, but restricted to specific types of gems).

I've seen your gem-vines, but I thought I base it more on RL science. ;)

The seeds are called "amethyst seed crystal" for example. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seed_crystal

Awesome idea with the gemstone growing. Is it possible for you to make a workshop to encrust/decorate weapons and armor with gems to go with it?

You can already do that in the normal jeweler. The grown gemsstones will count as normal gems. (You harvest plants, refine them into cut gems)
