[3] Grudge: Dustan, roseheart, NRDL
[5] Boss: Maegil, crazyabe, lidku, hawk132, Ardent
Coming to, I see the not-so-pleasant face of the warlock who was just fiddling around in my brain. I can’t tell if he’'s actually cast anything on me, but then if I could, my executioner definitely would. I’ll just have to trust the shifty git. Apparently, he could tell I was awake, as he leaned in close to me:
“Aza’qr’s half of the deal is fulfilled. He does not expect to see you again, but he bid me wish you good luck.” Before I could formulate a response, the warlock snapped his briefcase shut and disappeared with a small pop. I look around, eyes dancing off of the myriad treasuries held here. Some were valuable in the simplest of ways, master-crafted trinkets, ancient tomes and gilded furnishings. Others were only valuable in a personal sense, carrying memories that still touched my heart.
Scant minutes later, there was a bang on the door. No prizes for guessing who. Almost as soon I opened the door, a pair of thick arms grabbed hold and dragged me out. Struggling to look back on my home for the last three centuries, I knew I would barely remember it. Instead, I cast my mind back through the last few days, recounting the hurried, horribly one-sided deals that guaranteed the slimmest of chances for me in the mortal realm.
I had a number of artefacts that could be delivered to me on the other side, along with various bits of knowledge that I could have had protected from harm. I can’t prevent them from stripping me of my demon form, but I could arrange to have aspects of it restored to me afterwards. Hopefully this will be enough. It had to be.
Favour: 50. I can spend this on the things I want to bring with me to the mortal realm. If its knowledge, I’ll have it immediately, but if it’s an item or an attribute, I’ll have to wait until my contact shows up. Hopefully they won’t waste too much time on that.
• Hell plate – Stronger than steel thrice as thick, whilst as light as silk, this demonic suit of armour is almost impervious to mundane weaponry. 3 Favour
• My Sword – Crafted from hell stuff, this blade is keener than a razor and has never been sharpened in its millennia of use. It could be used to fight against the forces of the divine if the need arose. 3 Favour
• Arcane Spell book – Whilst originally a mere curiosity due to a demon’s innate ability at magic, this tome could prove useful nonetheless. 6 Favour
• Writ of Passage – Originally a bargaining tool for non-demons, the bearer is permitted access to the demon realm for no more than six days. 5 Favour
• Indentured Imp – One of my demonic servants, this imp has sworn itself to me for eternity. It I command it, it will meet me in the mortal realm. Whilst considered a lower demonic life form, it is an adequate magic user compared to a human, and unwaveringly loyal. 8 Favour
• Fine Clothes – I will arrive in the mortal realm naked. Whilst I don’t particularly care, the humans might. 1 Favour
• Mortal Documents - Identification papers suitable to prove my legality to any bureaucrats who try to get in the way. 3 Favour
• Satchel – Galling as it is to have to pay for something so simple, this bag is well made, has multiple pockets and has a minor enchantment of holding on it (doubles the current internal space). 1 Favour
• Might – Increases my strength, speed and toughness, depending on how much I pay. Does have the side effect of adding a red tint to my skin though. 6 Favour for twice that of a man, 15 Favour for four times, 25 Favour for eight times
• Mind – Increases my intelligence, memory and raw magical aptitude. Much less noticeable than an increase in Might. 6 Favour for twice that of a man, 15 Favour for four times, 25 Favour for eight times
• Claws – Allowing for both delicate manipulation and violent destruction, claws will out match a mortal blade in every way bar reach. 4 Favour
• Wings – Useful for more than just flight, wings are also usable offensively and defensively, due to their hardened nature. For a reduced cost, you could alter your form in preparation for adding wings at a later date. 4 Favour for alterations, 8 Favour for fully-fledged wings
• Horns – A status symbol amongst demon kind, and any who recognise it. Otherwise, useful for scaring mortals with my demonic nature. 3 Favour for small horns, 5 Favour for large
• Senses – Eyes able to detect magic and pierce illusion, ears able to discern a conversation across a crowded room, a nose able to sense the emotional shift in a human. Touch and taste are enhanced as well. 8 Favour
• Tail – As much a demonic icon as Horns, this can be used to aid balance and increase dexterity, whilst also being used as another weapon. 5 Favour
• Shapeshifting – Being able to morph my body between my mortal and demonic forms can be useful, if I wish to conceal my true nature. Unfortunately this will do little against those with arcane, infernal or divine senses. 5 Favour
• Magical Talent – Whilst I never truly focused on magical mastery, I still have skill in Divination, Pyromancy, Illusion and Apportation. 5 Favour will secure the basics of magic, 10 Favour per school.
• Pact-binder – My calling for the last five centuries, I am highly skilled in brokering deals, writing contracts and mundane bookkeeping. 15 Favour
• Soldier of Hell – Before starting my business, I was a foot soldier in my lord’s army. I am skilled with all forms of weaponry, and have tactical and strategic acuity to match. 15 Favour
• Dimensional Shift – There are only two ways to cross dimensions. The first involves a large amount of energy and skill to rip a hole from one to the other. Two things I’ve never had, even before this. The second is to find smaller rips or seams in reality and slip through them. This I do know how to do. 15 Favour
• Skilled Digestion – Demons normally feed on the vice of humanity, but each type is difficult to digest without practice. Thanks to my past, I’m quite skilled at handling wrath, envy, pride and greed. 5 Favour per vice
((Two things, does anyone know how to get shading on text? Second, I wasn't expecting a lean towards a modern setting, but I can go for that, if that's what you want))
