... Alright so I gave it a shot. Hype achieved.

I really like the hacker, provided you can get in hacking range from within a building next door where you won't be bothered. No idea how people can hear a computer being hacked from 2 rooms away but there it is.

Comedian seems to be terrible for me. several times I just infuriate an entire crowd and die.

Shapeshifter is a neat idea but really hard to pull off. Good challenge class.

Played my first time as a gorilla. Beat up people with my bare hands or baseball bats. Wrecked a bunch of scientists and gathered a posse of fellow gorillas rescued from said scientists or cloned from all that cash I'd gathered. Beat up more people. Got targeted by two killerbots, and eventually succumbed to their onslaught.

Yep, I'm playing this again.

On the note of the newsletter, doesn't signing up give you a chance of a free copy of the game once it's complete? So I don't really see the problem with it.

I deeply resent spam, even if winnings are attached to it. Requiring me to sign up for spam is a guarantee I will take a pass, free game be damned. It's not like this will be a 60 dollar game.

I just subscribed briefly then immediately unsubscribed. I haven't noticed any shenanigans in regard to extra revenge spam yet, but I'll note it if I do.

...Seriously? ???
You guys are upset about signing up for a newsletter? You realise this is delivered via e-mail, right? You don't have to give your postal address or condemn any innocent trees to death. Where's the problem? Even if you're really that worried about a tiny bit of clutter in your inbox, surely in this day and age everyone has plenty of throwaway email accounts?
I said I was annoyed, not upset nor that it stopped me from trying the game. I don't like giving my email address out unless necessary. I made a burner address and gave that to them instead. If I like it later I'll subscribe normally.

I get enough spam and bullshit, and you never know who will be selling your email address and other info to spammers or other unkind people.

When the grocer asks me for my email, I tell them to fuck off. When Target asks for my phone number, I tell them to fuck off.

I don't see why a game maker is any different. They don't need that information, it's just to serve some other purpose. In this case, maybe it's just a legitimate desire to have their updates seen by people. You still never require people to do that. If you want your game to be played, setting up mandatory and arbitrary barriers to doing so is, frankly, stupid.

Does it really matter though? You're going to bypass it anyway, by either using a fake email or just using itch.io, sooo... Begs the question why it's a big deal. I understand not wanting to give it out, but when it's essentially optional with a non-newsletter download is available, it's a bit strange to argue about it.

Was speaking generally, not specifically. But if you're going to make an alternate download method available, why even have the other method with a requirement on it?

Again, personally I was just annoyed with it. I still tried the game, enjoyed it a lot actually. Didn't mean to start some kind of controversy

Frankly if the itch link wasn't posted I wouldn't have downloaded the game either. At this point my "fo reals" inbox is spammed from 5 separate sources multiple times per week, and that's just legitimate stuff that I deemed worthy of my actual email address. I don't want any more frivolous crap than I can help to drop in there.

Loved it! Comedian was pretty viable actually, though the killer robot was a bit against the spirit of the game, imo  :-\   You never had time to do things.

Seems like it could turn into a great game, will definitely be trying to complete the demo.

Honestly, I love the killer robot. Wish it used a random selection of guns instead of just rockets though. Maybe a shotgun if the dev wants a set gun :P

On another note, once you beat the game you should totally get a cheat or dev mode. Because as it is now, when you reach the final demo level and win, there's very little reward for that. Plus, I like dicking around with cheats. Having the option to use them after beating the demo sounds reasonable.

Nearly won (5 levels right?) but then for some reason my movement controls lagged while my firing didn't... could probably have finished the last level if I had been able to move out of the way of the bombs. Had shotgun, sledgehammer, pistol, bunch auxiliary stuff and healing items, all that. Gangster's a pretty great class, if you like letting other people fight.

Fantastic game, anyhow, love the brief moments of thought before starting an objective.

Did a download of this and I find it fun--albeit always playing as a Cop, so I could notice several bits of importance:
> Handcuffs are the BEST :D The only problem is that attacking enemies always face you, so you've to find a way to go anywhere past their 90 degree directly-facing-you angle to handcuff them--there's a small bit of momentum saved over, and if anyone or anything bops you away, the time handcuffing them is lost. Handcuffs are non-lethal takedowns, which I find really fun for a sneaky cop like me :3
> Am unsure as to the specifics of the ?/4 stats each character has. But I can note that the theme of the game is distinctly American-ish, given some references to stuff I hear mostly only in their kind of news :O
> Riots make...many people involved in just HITTING other people as Guilty. :P Much fun for cops \o/ But for those cops who are Guilty and Aligned and you start out as a cop--you can't do anything about them! (Unless they turn hostile, and all allied cops don't do anything to you if you beatdown that cop hitting you! It seems there's reduced damage for them since this guy was hitting me with his stick, then fists, for 1 damage each. I had no armor on.)

It also feels short! But that's me blazing through a handful of levels with fun. Maybe an 'adrenaline' bar or something that is hotkeyed to spacebar that'll slowdown time (that you don't have to hold down the key for) can really help players as there are times where only pressing Q and all (to slow time) STOPS the player, and prevents them from doing things on the run?
