thanks. His personality is inspired by the character described in Savatage's
"hall of the mountain king" . he is an archaic ruler who places honour and bravery before reason and diplomacy. His ruling style is very much suited for the wartorn world he grew up in, but has little place in the current world, which is in a time of peace. He knows that his beliefs are as ancient and unstable as he is. as such he has fallen into a deep depression, rarely leaving his dimly lit throne room.

His beliefs are similar to that of Urist, the red-bearded dwarf who acts like a stereotype. However, the King knows that his ways are outdated, and has such become sullen and introverted. Urist, on the other hand, refuses to accept that the time of bravery has long since passed, and is hostile to the world around him because of this. He does not fit in, but does not want to change either.

Julien interrupts sleeping. Is struck by fey mood.

<starts engraving>
The engraving shows the starts of the siege of Roofhonour.
The dwarves are working.
The goblins are led by Atu Helltouch the goblin. Atu Helltouch is surrounded by goblins.
Atu Helltouch is striking a menacing pose.

(Yeah, my fortress is kinda like that. A large tower in the middle of two hills, with no windows. It was just a way to get rid of excess stone. Further I made smaller towers at the landscape.)

Looks like the goblin dark towers actually.

Julien cancels eating, possessed by unknown forces:
Starts engraving.

It is the end of the siege of Roofhonour:
It is a well designed image of goblins and dwarves by Julien Brightside.
The goblin Atu Helltouch is shaking his fist. Atu Helltouch is surrounded by goblins. The goblins are fleeing. The dwarves are striking a menacing pose.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Oh, just a fun thing unrelated to this:

SOmehow I believe my dwarves have come up with an unique way to punish the nobles.
The two nobles in my fort have a taste for metal things, especially mugs. So far my dwarves have made three artifact magnetite tables. Magnetite is magnetic, thus it must be a real annoyance for the nobles in my fort.

that's win, I think armor made from magnitite should have a reduced chance of dodging, and wepons made from magnetite should have an increased chance of hitting, thus you could have a full magnetic army, think of the possiblities!!! They could climb a sheer FRIDGE!!!!

Well, as a reply to those who accused me to draw too "open" female armor (ever heard of berserkers, eh?) I've made this "functional" design.

What do you say now?! Haha.

The shield is kinda "meh", just a few strokes as a placeholder, and the sword is too bland. Because I focused on armor.
I wasn't able to color it properly due to the lack of time. I think I'll do it later.

Those are two very risqué gems she has there on her breast(s)plate.

Nitpicking urges aside; your drawings are very nice.  ;)

I don't get why everyone nitpicks gems there.

Obviosly the area of nipples is raised. Obviously decorated items has gems on the most projecting parts, because otherwise there's not enough light for gems to shine (they have to). Thus I see it logical, that's all.

Hah, maybe if she didn't wear anything under that plate armor, but that'd be cold and *very* uncomfortable. And even then I'd have my doubts. :P

But don't get me wrong. I don't have anything against it, and it's your work of art.
Calling it 'logical' and 'obvious' strikes me as odd though.  ;)

I think it looks pretty cool actually.

I did have two minor nitpicks about the shield and the sword, but then noticed that you said its only a placeholder and the sword was just done quickly. Still, if you were going for a female guard look, the shield certainly fits as it looks like one of those police riot shields.

It still needs a helmet. But other than that, it's actually armor!
