Heh, I almost feel like making a smackjeeves account just to tinker with how I can make the page look nice. Maybe a background implying the comic image to be 'engraved' on a wall? Your style certainly lends itself to it.

On that note, and not just to fault, maybe it would be a fun project to try and draw (read: shoop) some stuff that looks like it was actually carved in natural rock, cleverly using ore veins and hash-scratching for color.

Beards are facial hair.  Facial.  You don't have beards in your armpits, do you?
I know what you were implying just now, and it is just wrong.  Horribly, horribly wrong, and should be forgotten.

Anyway, DF doesn't have canon on the beard/no beard issue.  The beards are included in the raws, they just don't have brackets.  So it's easy to switch them on or off.
