Yep, I used a tablet and painted out from a black background. I'm going to try and do a battle scene like that so I can practice abbreviating forms. Just a lot of sketches right now...

Speedpainting is an excellent way to improve your skills. I don't do nearly enough of it, which is why i routinely screw up basic physiology.

I'm not sure yet, I tried to do some goblins but they looked like crap. So, maybe I'll do a randomized underground creature or something like that... of course, a school of carp might be terrifying enough.

if you are going with Black mat for the battle how about SoF? they fill every dwarf, scratch that thing(I have battled them in Kobold Camp), with fear. Plus they give ample oportunity to have fun with lighting.

Pretty cool Bronze Colossus. Although I always imagined them as bieng more statue-like and less of a mecha.

Seriously though, it looks like ancient dwarves might have designed that thing.

Yes, DF has gloves, boots and thongs.
I've gotten an artifact thong at least once, actually.

Anyway, Fault, your colossus is very steampunk. I like it, though.

And Spreggo, that is SO AWESOME. I second the opinion of a SOF.
