the leader Demon is identical to a human in body form, except that he levitates through sheer force of malevolant will.

Soo...

Spoiler: humans vs HFS (click to show/hide)

I am laughing uncontrollably, which is bad because it's 4 AM and my roommate is asleep.

oh crap, I just realized I forgot to draw the sword stuck in his lung!

EDIT: here's another image.

I think cacame's presence in DF is causing elves all over the game worlds to pursue random acts of awesome.

it takes me like three hours in MS paint to colour things though.
Might be faster if I used photoshop, I don't really know.

Probably, just the fact that you can colour on a layer beneath the lines is a huge help in speeding things up.

The "Humen -> HFS" one is hilariously awesome.

I can colour under the lines in paint. I use the right click on the eraser tool to pick out white areas and ignore black lines. The eraser is too big for fine detail, though.

Yeah, I imagine if you had photoshop these would look even better. The multiple layers thing is a blessing.

Fault, if you got skype, I'll gladly spend an hour to teach you all the tricks. With a tablet and PS you'd be churning out fantasting art in no time.

If I remember correctly, a mastersword through the chest gives you just enough time to make a dramatic final speech before falling to the ground.  Although in this game, you'd just get up again, make another dramatic speech, and then fall once more.  And so on.

There wouldn't be that many chunks if the head came off cleanly, but there probably would be more blood. Circulatory systems are very high pressure.
Actually, without a connection to the brain, the heart stops beating, the only blood that would come out is leakage from the head or neck
-though with high blood pressure as you say, there would be a small spurt. for the sake of balance I'd say that's accurate enough gore.

He he he.  Yeah, it almost looks done...  alas...  those who are in your teens, hold on until your twenties...  those in your twenties, your thirties...  others, cling to life as you are able...
It should be pretty fun though.

Actually, without a connection to the brain, the heart stops beating,

I'm quite sure it still does, though the beat rate cannot be regulated anymore. Just take people with a transplanted heart : no nervous connection is repaired, though the heart (fortunately) keeps beating. However, it beats usually too fast and cannot adapt its rate to the owner's needs (like when running).
