I'm not entirely sure if this fits in here, since it's not technically fan art of dwarf fortress, but at least it was inspired by toady's work on the artifact release that triggered this. I looked through some of the interesting items in the lotr wiki, thinking of the possibilities. I guess rings of power aren't that far out of the question in the future, or at least something akin to that.
Hope you enjoy regardless!

We have a rich tradition of percussion instruments as well, all of which are based around a musician smacking variously sized hollow rocks.
It was quite brutal actually. Who knew you could suffer major head trauma from undergarments?

Really amazing stuff here guys. Nice work and it's good to see so much variety of styles
My favourite so far is .........'s style in particular. Very post-modern and deeply intriguing. hmmmm

I made this as a gift.  My friend was pleased with it and thought I should share it here.

Awesome!  It's how I like to imagine my tavern in the early days of my fortress, before all the blood.

Sad thing is, it's not like DF isn't getting tons of fanart. Drew and ......... are hugely prolific, and there's plenty of other folks too. They just don't post on Bay12 much.

My apologies for this. I cannot draw for shit. Then why am I here, you ask? Because I would like to see a night troll I generated drawn or something.

Here is the description (edited for drawing reference):
Mudo Bonesnight the Faint Burial was a troll of evil. A scaly humanoid. It has a long, straight tail and it lumbers along steadily from place to place. Its clear scales are large and close-set. And for the gender, Mudo is male.

There probably was no "I will draw your night troll" thread, so I came here.

Sorry if this is stupid.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

I finally got round to doing a fully rendered piece of DF Fan art. It is called 'Journey Into the Depths of the World'.
