yes but i think it was originally done for eve.
Which doesn't really make sense. Unless you count keeping administration in excel sheets as a "Gaming skill".
I don't know about eve, but you could say the same for Aurora, and it's still one of the hardest games I know.

I'm quite sure it's the opposite way around that it was made for DF and theres an edited EVE copy kicking around.

What's the source of this certainty?

The DF one uses far older games.

For DF it does not make sense too. Unless you count successful mastering worst user interface evah as a "Gaming skill".

Not really.

The DF one uses far older games.
I can photoshop this picture again: replace Dwarf Fortress with Hello Kitty Online and three other game to something from 80's. I guess you will consider it as even better realsy real original, eh?

Another quick doodle I came up with on watch whilst I was waiting for the skipper to finish his phone call.

A 2560x1440 wallpaper I came up with based on an export from Isoworld. Probably going to try and hunt down a better town/city for it  ::)

Also seen it in the other thread. That is epic. Because of the colors, those silhouettes. The font is also nicely picked. And the location isn't bad at all, with that old ruin looming on the hill.

To me, World Iso Viewer reveals how much detail already is in the dwellings. Something I never really grasped from adventure mode "street view".

Might be better when the new version is out and you can hunt down an actual dwarf fortress. Although we could be looking at a Halloween release this time around, so it's not like you can't do other things in the interim.

Compared to Dwarf Fortress, Eve is pretty simple.  Compared to other MMO's, it's not.  I played a few years of EVE.  Trying to explain the old scanning system was nuts, for example.  Or how the faction system actually worked as opposed to how newbies normally thought it worked.  Or how to build POS'es.  Or proper fitting of PVE ships compared to PVP ships.  Or how resistances work.

How did I miss the existence of this thread?
(Don't attempt to answer that.  Down that path lies ... well I was going to say madness but you all run towards madness as if it was made from chocolate and puppies.  Just forget I said anything.)
