I love how your gobs look, Tofu; that ambush scene is one of my new all-time faves! I can't wait for more of your art, because you are one of those creative geniuses that makes me feel truly inspired by fan art, of all things.

Edit: The glowing red eyes in the forest are freaking choice.

Oh, ick. Looks like a distant relative of the Xenomorph.

Certainly you could argue that DF is a lot like The Sims, only... you know... with more vomit and decapitation.
If you launch a wooden mine cart towards the ocean at a sufficient speed, you can have your entire dwarf sail away in an ark.

It's clearly a primitive sub-species of the Mirelurk. That is still some great artwork, Tofu, 15 minutes or not.

That's really cracking, Tofu!

Did you know that horseshoe crabs have copper based blood, that is clear when it's in their body and it turns blue when they bleed?

As the guy who sponsored Horseshoe Crabs, I thank you for this! I should print it out and next breeding season (late May, early June unfortunately) photograph a few walking over or near the print. Regular horseshoe crabs of course. Horseshoe Crab Men are far too dangerous to be around.

Thanks to all of you for the kind words. I really do love you guys :)
I don't have anything to bring right now, as I had sort of a terrible day. I fucked up my wrist (thank god it's not carpal tunnel syndrome, I'd kill myself), and the wound on my arm hurt a lot for some raisins. But, as soon as I get the chance tomorrow I'll get back to painting a king cobra man, as requested : )
For those of you who want to see a what I'd consider a slug man, beautifully rendered by someone I admire very much, I'd check out :

Well stop getting hurt. I didn't authorize it--you're too important to lose.  :P

Wow, Sigurd has a great take on a slug man! I think he's got some pretty great stuff! You're still the greatest in my eyes, though. You churn out art in minutes that'd take proles like me a lifetime to create... That's impressive. There's only one Tofu on these forums, that's for sure.  ;)

Hey guys. Thank you for the compliments, I really enjoy knowing that you like my work, even if I'm not happy with it myself.
So, I got around to making another little thing Dwarf Fortress related. I hope you like it, and sort of get what's going on,
because I seriously messed up the composition on this one, hahaha.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I really like this Tofu, but if you are seeing it the same way I am then I think I might know what's bugging you about it.

Three things mainly.  And I only mention these things because you yourself seem to be unsatisfied with it.  It's far better than anything I might even think about creating.  If you find my criticism to be silly, then I trust your judgement FAR more than I do mine on matters of art!

1) The dwarves are central, but they are much less detailed than the goblins at the edges, and muted by shadow.  My eyes are drawn to the bright center top and the detailed lower left almost as much as they are drawn to the center dwarves.

2) The Symmetry of the two trees closest to the road on either side.  Not necessarily a bad thing, but when I see symmetry like that in a nature landscape I try to see if there is a reason for it based on the content of the rest of the landscape.  Maybe have one of the trees be lightning struck, half-fallen or otherwise damaged?  Keep the content but reduce the symmetry?

3) The far left bottom corner goblin looks to me like as if it should be in full view of the dwarves, and it's not clear that the dwarves have or have not seen it.  I can't tell if this goblin is trying to be "bait" for the ambush, or if it's just stupid, or if the dwarves are drunk or simply not paying attention.

How did I miss the existence of this thread?
(Don't attempt to answer that.  Down that path lies ... well I was going to say madness but you all run towards madness as if it was made from chocolate and puppies.  Just forget I said anything.)
