an important idea for his outfit is that it has no pockets - all of his possessions are either hung from chains or stuffed in amongst the many belts he has wrapped around his person (I think this aesthetic helps to emphasize the thief-like nature of the race)

At first I thought the shirt was skintight, and the goblin was thin and bony. After looking at it, I realized it was quite the opposite (at least for the shirt): the shirt is very loose and those are folds. Is that black too dark a colour for folds? It makes it look like he has bones poking out of fairly odd places. Sorta the same thing with the pants.

EDIT: I just realized I forgot to tell you how awesome it is, even with my nitpickings. It's amazing.

I know you explained it, but I can't help feel it's a little ridiculous. What's it take him to put all those on in the morning? Half an hour? Also he menaces with spikes. I know goblins like spikes, but I guess they really hate hugs also. Unless that thing on his chest is also for gardening. Maybe they have a martial art based around pulling weeds while break dancing.
