The female dwarf reminds me of a dwarf version of Lara Croft.

She is kinda Lara Croft-y. Attractive, yes. Dwarfy? I may need to stare at it a little more to decide. Somehow the *cough* ample chest seems to match what I imagine to be dwarf proportions, though. It maintains that stocky look I think dwarves ought to have.

And, that mosquito is terrifying, but mainly because the description seems to imply that it's pretty big. Imagine minding your own business when a six-foot needle jabs through your window. Brr.

I like the darkness, it emphasizes the features of the dwarves, and is probably what it actually looks like in most of these fortresses, I don't think there's any light source in them...

A quick forgotten beast sketch:



Ino Shipboats the Deep Ghost of Oars was a forgotten beast. A huge feathered snail. It has wings and it undulates rhythmically. Its yellow-green feathers are downy. Beware its noxious secretions! Ino was associated with water, death and caverns.

And just in case you think it's cute, feel free to picture it eating your dwarves like this. Alternatively, as a snail it probably has a radula, which is something like a tongue covered in sharp teeth. It could probably lick off all your flesh in a few passes.

This is the first drawing I've done in quite awhile. I wanted to try out GIMP's image editting abilities, so I figured I'd make a dwarf fan image. I like how it came out.
